Brexit watch, round 2

WW you must be watching a different news channel to me. Yes, I saw a hate crime on the news where some cowardly losers, inspired by Isis, murdered a defenceless old man, while he was taking Mass.

Don't forget racist and misogynistic anya! 17 million people are all these things?! pretty spooky I'd say!!! I don't think Brexit can be blamed for today's appalling murder of a Catholic Priest while taking Mass. Apparently he was standing in for the usual Priest who is on holiday. Poor man what a dreadful end.

I was watching 601 Virgin. It was a report showing all the hate crimes that had been recorded by the police in the UK since Brexit.

it's interesting isn't it that since BREXIT all of a sudden these terrible hate crimes now seem worthy as news items, weren't the police recording them before BREXIT? And if they were why are we being told about them now when we weren't hearing much about them before?

Sadly, this country like so many others has its racists; always has done and sadly always will have. This is propaganda by those who wanted to stay. The grossly offensive implication that all Brexiters are racist.

Is it any wonder there's so much hostility and division in the UK at the moment.

Forgot to ask you Anya how did it go at the allotment? Did you bring anything nice home for your tea?

Your posting is worded as if you believe ALL leavers are racist,misogynist and dangerous.
The large majority of British people don,t give a thought to racism and are very decent people.
When I go to the shop,on a train or bus,even in my garden or meeting friends,I am among many different races,and it wouldn,t occur to me that they were any different to myself.

All countries have their share of these obnoxious people ,and the referendum has given ours a platform to spout their venom.
Of course " those who voted to leave" are not rascist,misogynists and dangerous,but some people are...across both voting groups.
At my last home,a family from Africa moved next door ...they were lovely people and 500% better than the previous English ones !!!
One neighbour commented "oh,you have black neighbours".
I know for sure that she voted to stay in the EU.

We have had racial hatred in the UK for decades and so has the rest of Europe.
There has been press re racial incidents since the referendum....good,I hope they are all exposed.
I wonder how much can be accredited to the daily press exposure of the asylum/immigrant situation over the past few months,showing marauding young men.The press like headlines....it sells newspapers.
I also think cases such as the high profile Rotherham abuse has added to it.

Racism is disappointing in an enlightened world,verbal alone is nasty enough.
My concern currently is the amount of racial,physical and sexual abuse being suffered by genuine asylum seekers (adults and children) held in hostels and camps across the water in mainland EU.

Not at all a roundabout way. Again, you are trying to interpret what I said in the wrong way.
Racists voted to leave. I do not think anyone can dispute that.
Racists are going around saying to immigrants that they voted for them to go back where they came from. Nobody can dispute that.
What I did not say is that all those who voted leave are racist. I also said that those who voted to remain are not racist.
Do you understand now, because I do not think I can make it any simpler.

dj, although most of us on here bow to your superior knowledge of all things political, even you cannot possibly know who was or was not all the objectionable things that you in your wisdom just tar leavers with! Of course some remainers are also racist, ill educated, misogynistic etc. People on both sides voted for a variety of reasons, worries about a future over powering union, rules and regulations concerning fishing quota's, agriculture concerns (affects my family), and so on. Remainers equally voted for a number of reasons, and I too know of people who voted remain for mostly financial reasons that over ride their obvious racist tendencies. So to say that negative things are just one sided is rubbish.

Yes, I do know exactly what dj said granjura and thank you for recognising that I am not stupid. If we are to have a level playing field then it's only reasonable that if some to choose to play with words we should all be able to do so.
