This could and probably will go on for yearsgrin

Just to note that as well as Japan putting down markers, Australia has advised that we will behind the EU in any trade negotiations.

suzied Thu 13-Oct-16 15:42:51

I'm not sure what this control or sovereignty means when we live in a global economy, import way more than we export. What laws have the EU passed that we will be able to avoid? ( don't say human rights as that is not part of the EU). The only thing is avoiding free movement of labour , that's not going to be easy as we have an open border with an EU country ( Ireland). Maybe we'll have to build a wall over there.

Better still, make it five years ( after Corbyn has lost the GE)

granjura Thu 13-Oct-16 15:44:09

Nothing has happened yet? What about Sterling dropping like a lead balloon, and food prices going up, and some goods being taken off the shelves, and so many businesse planning their exit. Nothing? Which planet do you live on, please?

granjura Thu 13-Oct-16 15:45:02

Suzied- it's those bendy bananas, don't you know sad

Ana Thu 13-Oct-16 15:45:21

*whitewave, is complaining on GN being vigilant? confused

rosesarered Thu 13-Oct-16 15:48:01

granjura there were plenty of lies on the Remain side, even the Remainers ( even the keenest) know that Cameron and Osborne went so OTT that it had the opposite effect on the electorate ( where , for example is the 'Emergency Budget' that Osborne claimed would have to be put into effect if we dared to vote Leave) and there were many more.It was handled badly by both sides, with claim and counter claim.

Ana Thu 13-Oct-16 15:49:48

And how do we know the man in the link is 'honest'? There's plenty of propaganda out there...on both sides!

rosesarered Thu 13-Oct-16 15:51:38

The goods are not being taken off the shelves ( there is Marmite in the stores and lots of stock) It's only online shopping FGS. Why big up the arguement between Unilever and Tesco over prices and make out we are a country of food shortages?Unless it's to cause more seeds of gloom and doom.

Ana Thu 13-Oct-16 15:52:44

And I'm sure we can all live without pot noodles...

MaizieD Thu 13-Oct-16 15:53:57

Nothing's really happened yet? confused

The pound is at its lowest for over 100 years, the government is doing its level best to bypass parliamentary sovereignty and Tesco's run out of Marmite. shock

What further shocks do we have to endure before it's counted as something happening?

rosesarered Thu 13-Oct-16 15:57:07

That is a joke, right?

rosesarered Thu 13-Oct-16 15:59:01

The government has agreed that Parliament needs a say, sterling goes up and down all the time, and Tesco had Marmite ( loads of it) this morning.

Ana Thu 13-Oct-16 16:06:35

Someone's selling a jar of marmite on e-bay for £70 apparently! Every cloud etc...

rosesarered Thu 13-Oct-16 16:11:03

Hope it's a jumbo sized one Ana

Tegan Thu 13-Oct-16 16:19:01

It seems to be pretty official that hate crime has gone up by over 40%

granjura Thu 13-Oct-16 16:19:05

Sterling goes up and down all the time - but is has never gone so low- ever... so how can it amount to nothing (well, actually ... won't be long at this rate).

Leave you to it for a while - it's a bit like banging your head against a brick wall, comes a time when it's best to stop.

Ceesnan Thu 13-Oct-16 16:19:49

Not sure where you are shopping granjura, but there are no empty shelves in any of the supermarkets near me.

Jalima Thu 13-Oct-16 16:21:14

So many comments from Brexiters today re Tesco- saying they shop at Lidl and Aldi sad how patriotic!
I didn't realise that only people who voted Brexit shopped at Lidl and Aldi

Many people have abandoned Tesco because of their poor customer service and their fibs when they decide not to stock a certain item.
I didn't realise we were not to shop at Lidl and Aldi and had to shop at Tesco to show our patriotism!

Ceesnan Thu 13-Oct-16 16:21:25

Or could you just be reacting to the hysteria generated by the media?

Ceesnan Thu 13-Oct-16 16:22:05

That was to granjura

Tegan Thu 13-Oct-16 16:26:05

You mean the sort of hysteria pre referendum created by lying headlines about immigrants in the gutter press?

Ana Thu 13-Oct-16 16:31:22

Didn't notice any hysteria about immigrants. Mind you, I don't read the gutter press.

There was certainly a lot of hot air being generated by the Remain crusaders though.

Ana Thu 13-Oct-16 16:32:45

Do they have Tesco in Switzerland?

whitewave Thu 13-Oct-16 16:32:49

Oh sorry ana I thought you read the Daily Mail!!! Sorry!!!!!

durhamjen Thu 13-Oct-16 16:36:15

Didn't notice any hysteria about immigrants?
Never noticed Farage standing in front of that poster and lying about it?

Must have been asleep throughout the campaign.
