Mosborough (Sheffield) result:
LDEM: 45.6% (+31.8)
LAB: 34.1% (-9.2)
UKIP: 12.4% (-9.8)
CON: 6.1% (-7.9)
GRN: 1.8% (-1.3)

The LibDems won a council seat from Labour yesterday with a huge swing. Does anybody know this seat and know what's going on?

As a child I was never taken to present flowers to a politician , neither were my children or grandchildren, children should never be used and this is what the momentum cult is doing. Shame on them and on Corbyn and his fan club, in my opinion it's a form of child abuse

I once chose a child to present some flowers to the Mayor at an event I organised. Was I guilty of child abuse? It did provide a great photo opportunity and made the local paper.

Anniebach Mon 19-Sept-16 16:32:12

this has turned into a thread for promoting Momentum

trisher Mon 19-Sept-16 16:47:11

I haven't mentioned Momentum, has anyone else mentioned Momentum ? I suspect it is only you Anniebach. Are you promoting Momentum?

durhamjen Mon 19-Sept-16 20:11:47

This is interesting. Ken Loach has made a film for Corbyn, and the Guardian is calling it propaganda.

www.theguardian.com/film/2016/sep/19/ken-loach-promotional-video-jeremy-corbyn-film-optimism-labour

In that case, are the films tonight, Dispatches and Panorama, both anti-Corbyn and both by the same production company, not also propaganda?

daphnedill Tue 20-Sept-16 01:19:01

Where does the Guardian call it 'propaganda'? That article is quite factual in a neutral to positove way.

janeainsworth Tue 20-Sept-16 08:10:35

It called it a promotional video.
Is that a euphemism for propaganda?
I would have thought there was a distinct difference.
I watched Panorama last night. I thought John Pienaar presented the story of the Labour Party under Corbyn in a balanced way.
Do you think JP should not have included Neil Kinnock saying he feared that he would never see another Labpur Government, dj?

Anniebach Tue 20-Sept-16 08:49:44

Kinnock was right, and no Labour government means a Tory government . That doesn't trouble the corbynites as long as he stays as leader.

A vote for Corbyn is a vote for wilderness years

nightowl Tue 20-Sept-16 08:56:38

The second paragraph of the article for those who haven't read it:

Loach, the director of Kes, The Wind That Shakes The Barley and I, Daniel Blake, filmed two Q&A sessions with supporters of the Labour leader in Sheffield and London for the propaganda video titled In Conversation with Jeremy Corbyn.

I have added the bold just in case you miss it.

janeainsworth Tue 20-Sept-16 09:23:21

Oops! sorry! blushblush

Ana Tue 20-Sept-16 09:41:31

Sounds as though it was meant to be biased towards JC then, so best viewed with a huge pinch of salt.

trisher Tue 20-Sept-16 10:49:02

As should be all the anti-Corbyn propaganda that masquerades as news these days.

POGS Tue 20-Sept-16 10:50:30

I have asked on the Dispatches / Momentum thread how can you see the film? Is it going to be for public viewing or just for activists and Corbyn/Momentum rallies which are unseperable.

How can Ken Loach or James Schneider be put forward as giving ' balance'. The portrayal of innocence ' not me/us guv' is in total contradiction to what we hear and see time and time again from interviews, documentaries, MP's themselves. Ken Loach and his Left Unity Party and James Schneider / Momentum , whom I have heard speak on a few occassions, are part of the pro Corbyn machine so cannot be called upon to give 'balance'. Put their view yes but not ' balance'.

daphnedill Tue 20-Sept-16 11:06:17

Thank you, nightowl. I missed it too. I must have been tired.

POGS Tue 20-Sept-16 11:06:45

Poor old Lib Dems aren't getting a look in on here are they.

Anniebach Tue 20-Sept-16 11:12:09

Tim Farron is making his conference speech this afternoon

POGS Tue 20-Sept-16 11:24:32

Given no interuptions I shall watch him. I have to admit I have tried to follow quite a bit of the Lib Dem Conference but it just doesn't quite 'hold my intention' as much as Labour or Conservative Conferences which can be either good or tedious in all fairness. That's politics I guess.

I have to admit I still prefer Nick Clegg.

Anniebach Tue 20-Sept-16 13:00:19

I too prefer Nick Clegg
