So much for the "racy reds". As a life long socialist, I have always succumbed to a fig roll! However whether this is another poke at him by the media, I worry about a man that seems to attract so many acolytes, in particular women, and that he seems to be cosseted and tucked away in 'cupboard meetings' with his chosen followers, nibbling no doubt all the custard creams!

An American friend gave me the recipe for freezer jam years ago. You do add sugar but far less than usual, which is why it has to be kept in small batches in the freezer. Made with strawberries it was absolutely delicious though.

This man seems very reluctant to give a personal view on anything - even a biscuit! Remember his claim to have no idea who Ant and Dec were? He claims to represent ordinary people and yet declines to say anything that would make him seem like one of the hoi-polloi, as if that's beneath him. I think he's shifty and cannot for the life of me understand his popularity.

Apparently you can make sugarless jam, but although you can artificially thicken it to give it some body,it would be imo bitter and have an acquired taste! Perhaps appropriate?!!!
