Well this could be interesting.

Rosie Winterton sacked from Chief Whips position and Nick Brown back in the Cabinet again. Baroness Shami Chakrabarti has done very well since joining Labour she is now Shadow Attorney General and Dianne Abbot Shadow Home Secretary, Dawn Butler Shadow Minority Ethnic Communities, Sarah Champion Shadow Women and Equalities Minister and Jo Stevens Shadow Secretary of State for Wales.

It will be interesting to see if any who signed 'No Confidence' in Corbyn can/will be in Corbyn's reshuffled Cabinet Team. Time for 'Unity'?

Before you pop off trisher please quote where I criticised Mick Brown, I criticised the sacking of Rosie Winterton

POGS Annie has posted criticisms of the appointment of Nick Brown, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask her if she thinks he is a good choice.
I know Annie's views on Corbyn she has posted them many times.
Fine Annie as I have no comments or stories of politicians to post (I have met some but can't remember a thing they said) I will withdraw and leave you to tell your stories

Anniebach Mon 10-Oct-16 19:48:10

Trisher,i don't give a hoot about your opinions and views, you take delight in belittling people, a trait which causes harm to some. That's all I have to say to you , I will post as I choose within the rules and you do not set the rules

Well I find it's a bit of irony Anniebach is being repeatedly questioned over her Labour credentials / loyalty by some who have declared they have not voted Labour for years, said they vote for another party, all in a manner that would give an impression they have voted Labour all their lives.

Anniebach has to my mind been one of a handful of posters who have stayed true to the party .

What is the difference between Anniebach having a change of heart over Corbyn than others who voted Labour (at least say they did)having a change of heart with Blair? Indeed to the point they keep repeating the point they 'stopped voting Labour' because of Blair.

I have had many disagreements with Anniebach, quite heated at times but to be fair I respected she was coming at it as a true Labour voter/activist not by giving the appearance of being a Labour voter/activist. She has never declared to voting for another party, never promoted voting for any other party as some posters have most certainly done quite openly.

I'm sure your recollections and anecdotes about politicians would be welcome on a different thread Annie but we were discussing the role of Chief Whip and Nick Brown. You seem to think he isn't right for the job.

Anniebach Mon 10-Oct-16 17:50:14

Thank you Petra, I post what has been said to me because it may interest some, if some alleged Labour Party members had attended many conferences, canvassed at every general election for over fifty years, and leadership elections plus the Welsh parliment from its birth onwards, accepted positions in the party's committees , been active in the party's campaign against apartheid for many years , been very involved in the miners strike they too would have met quite a few politicians , they chose to read about socialism instead

trisher Mon 10-Oct-16 17:26:50

But we were discussing the role of chief whip, not if he would/wouldn't have supported Brown. Still not sure if Annie thinks he will be a good one. He definitely isn't a Blairite and I believe she is. (but I may be wrong)

Why shouldn't AB mention well known politicle figures she knows or has known? I'll admit I'm slightly envious of AB in relation to all the powerful political people she has spoken to, what a wonderful opportunity.

Listening to the discussions on the Clinton v Trump battle and the fact that some can defend what Trump said about women I now think any attempt on a discussion of Corbyn is a waste of time ,

And no, I am not comparing Corbyn with Trump, the only thing they have in common is three marriages

durhamjen Mon 10-Oct-16 09:29:02

Like I said, just curious.
If I met someone in a coffee shop who told me that Nick Brown had told her what Nick Brown told you, I would have asked the same questions.

trisher Mon 10-Oct-16 09:16:43

I always think when people resort to name-dropping they are on the edge of desperation.

Anniebach Mon 10-Oct-16 08:32:08

?

durhamjen Mon 10-Oct-16 00:09:28

he told me - sorry but he did - that he strongly advised Gordon Brown to stand against Blair for the leadership, he would have been his campaign manager

That doesn't sound like the milkman. Was he not a friend when he told you that?
Nick Brown is a Northern MP. Did he tell you that in Parliament or in Wales?
Just curious. You keep dropping in the fact that you know these people, but you do not seem to like Nick Brown, as you are avoiding saying whether he is a friend or not.

durhamjen Mon 10-Oct-16 00:03:37

Is Nick Brown an acquaintance?
What's wrong with him being chief whip again?

durhamjen Sun 09-Oct-16 23:57:07

You think someone who has won the Ghandi Peace Award for thirty years work upholding the Ghandian values of social justice and non-violence is not caring, do you? How strange.

Anniebach Sun 09-Oct-16 23:36:41

You could be right Jen, pity their leader wasn't sensible and caring , the party needs a sensible and caring leader .

Anniebach Sun 09-Oct-16 23:33:57

Wrong again Jen,i said he told me , I didn't use the words- he advised me. I did say he advised Brown, I didn't need or ask him to advise me on any matter. Yet I confused you , mmmmm, do you assume every one eho tells you something is a friend, I don't . My milkman told me he was moving house, he isn't a friend

Hope this had made it clearer for you to understand

durhamjen Sun 09-Oct-16 23:31:39

They've come back because they are sensible and caring, Annie. They know that the Labour party needs to unite to fight the Tories. Unlike you.

Anniebach Sun 09-Oct-16 23:27:12

They resigned because they had no faith in him as a leader, momentum threaten deselection and ten trot back . Coincidence ?

durhamjen Sun 09-Oct-16 23:23:18

Ten MPs who had previously resigned have come back to the shadow cabinet.
Out of another 20, 14 are from the North.

durhamjen Sun 09-Oct-16 23:17:49

Sorry, you confused me. I assumed he was a friend of yours, too, as you said he'd told you that he'd advised Brown to stand for leader.
An acquaintance, then.

Anniebach Sun 09-Oct-16 22:46:55

You are confused Jen, I said he he was / is a close friend of Gordon Brown,

durhamjen Sun 09-Oct-16 22:41:43

So what's wrong with Nick Brown being the new chief whip, as he's a friend of yours?

Anniebach Sun 09-Oct-16 22:40:21

Nick Brown the new chief whip is a very close, very loyal, long time friend of Gordon Brown, he told me - sorry but he did - that he strongly advised Gordon Brown to stand against Blair for the leadership, he would have been his campaign manager

Anniebach Sun 09-Oct-16 22:36:13
