I did go back to Elizabeth of Bohemia, nigglynelly. Mother of Sophia, Electress of Hanover though I didn't mention her by name. Daughter of James Stuart and his Danish queen, Anne. I just got a bit boss eyed trying to work out James I & VIth's bloodlines! It was the weeny trace of Stuart blood that gave the throne of England to the Hanoverians.
Very few, if any, European monarchs were indigenous in the 17th, 18th, 19th centuries as they were obliged to marry into ruling families.
I'm not angry, just as bit miffed about the thread being massively derailed (says she, perpetuating the derailment...). I'd be perfectly happy to discuss the topic on a dedicated thread.
I'm also a bit
as to why anyone should find the Queen's ancestry in any way significant. There is a curious brand of Nationalism afoot these days; I have a very deep suspicion of nationalism.
