I am sat with my mouth open????

My initial thoughts that as with Brexit I think it is absolutely clear that there is a large level of dissatisfaction with the political classes.

This is true of most countries in the western world.

Need to get my brain around this.

Imagine if your are Mexican or black and a woman.

Wobblybits Wed 09-Nov-16 06:40:00

I think he is about to treat the world the way he treats women. Sad day for humanity.

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 06:40:14

It really is Brexit all over again. Farage on the winning side again.

Unbelievable and unbearable

JessM Wed 09-Nov-16 06:44:51

I hope when he discovers that being president is totally different to being a TV reality TV host and much less enjoyable. What is worse is that the 2 houses look like being Republican.
A man with facist views, an unstable personality and a poor moral code.
What will happen when the people realise their lives are not going to improve.
Talk about a bad year in politics.

DaphneBroon Wed 09-Nov-16 06:47:34

Reeling.

Even before 6 I could see lights on in neighbours' / friends' bedrooms and I knew they were probably as shell shocked as I, watching News24. A text confirmed it.
What on earth is going on? A reality TV star ruling the world?
I'd feel safer with Kermit the frog.

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 06:49:17

So probable leader of the "free" world is a rascist, a misgynist, a bankrupt, a tax avoider, is totally ignorant about foreign policy, has never held political office, has never been anywhere near the senate or congress and appears a total wally

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 06:52:45

American muslims must been devastated

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 06:53:23

Le Penn is cock a hoop

cornergran Wed 09-Nov-16 06:55:22

Hard to believe my eyes. I'm saddened and very, very scared about the future. The dissatisfaction with established politicians has put us all in a very dangerous place.

Devorgilla Wed 09-Nov-16 06:55:50

2016 is the year we will learn just how fragile freedom and liberty is.

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 06:58:03

Wonder what the hold up is? Perhaps the CIA is panicking grin

suzied Wed 09-Nov-16 07:03:12

I am now on a self imposed news blackout listening to an audiobook. It's all too depressing.

JessM Wed 09-Nov-16 07:07:13

They have not quite got the numbers of electoral votes whitewave

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 07:09:25

Wonder if Trump will pursue his call for locking up Clinton? Grief. Everyone must hope and pray

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 07:10:07

It won't happen

JessM Wed 09-Nov-16 07:17:39

He won't want to be making any free trade agreements with UK or anyone else will he.

whitewave Wed 09-Nov-16 07:19:33

So what is happening? My initial theory is that the working classes are reacting to the result of globalisation and their lack of control, both here and in US.

grannypiper Wed 09-Nov-16 07:22:23

JessM, Trump has a lot of money invested in the U.K

gillybob Wed 09-Nov-16 07:27:27

I agree with Whitewave's last comment.

He is obviously saying what most of America is thinking.

grannypiper Wed 09-Nov-16 07:27:45

19%of Latinos voted for him, so did many Blacks and women, his vote didnt just come from white male members of the KKK and uneducated neo-nazis. Should the normal well ajusted educated people who voted for him be ignored ?
