Dignified, clever and with a sense of fun (Carpool Karaoke with James Corden)

We are going to miss this First Lady!

daphnedill Fri 06-Jan-17 19:52:53

I agree. She's an amazing woman, but I have a feeling she won't disappear from the world stage.

Rinouchka Fri 06-Jan-17 19:53:10

Yes indeed! I have just watched her give her last speech as First Lady and was very moved. The best First Lady since Eleanor Roosevelt, imho.

Jalima Fri 06-Jan-17 20:05:24

She is truly inspiring and her message to the young people of America is one I hope they will heed during the coming years.

Badenkate Fri 06-Jan-17 20:06:08

She is a lovely lady and has been a wonderful First Lady.

tanith Fri 06-Jan-17 20:06:58

I hope she finds a role that makes the best of her wonderful abilities. Her communications skills are second to none. A true inspiration to many and she does give hope for the future.

whitewave Fri 06-Jan-17 20:08:22

What a sophisticated pair they are. So cool and intelligent.

Niobe Fri 06-Jan-17 20:16:23

A very hard act to follow!

Cherrytree59 Fri 06-Jan-17 20:29:21

I think it maybe a case of some in the States not knowing what they had until they have lost it.

Michelle has been an inspiration to many especially the young
The Obamas have shown great dignity and empathy.

Where as .....

Really sorry! Having a few computer problems. Finally link works AND on the right thread. I'll ask GN to remove the others.

A dignified, highly intelligent woman who surely will find her niche on the world stage. She has so much to offer and not just to women although she gives a very strong message about the role of women today.

paddyann Fri 06-Jan-17 21:45:09

they have both been a credit to their country,no scandals ,a lovely family life and great communicators, lets hope she continues her good work ...and enjoys her family

Anya Fri 06-Jan-17 22:05:39

She is a Class Act.

bellsisabelle Fri 06-Jan-17 22:49:59

She's a really good person. They both are. Great speech.

I wonder what she will do now. Sounds like she wants to work for young people. Good luck to her.

ninathenana Fri 06-Jan-17 23:08:35

Couldn't agree more.

Iam64 Sat 07-Jan-17 09:55:18

Yes and yes again to all the positive comments above. I do hope Michelle Obama continues to be active in public life but I also hope their family has a bit of down time after such excellent service to their country.

bellsisabelle Sat 07-Jan-17 11:07:14

I think she might have overdone the, "do not be afraid" bit, tbh. Trump might not be quite that bad!

Jalima Sat 07-Jan-17 11:24:49

I think she was very restrained - as I think a lot of Americans are very apprehensive indeed.

Let's hope he is kept on a short leash.

NotTooOld Sat 07-Jan-17 18:09:50

Lovely couple, the Obamas. Dignified. Unlike some I can think
of ........

kittylester Sun 08-Jan-17 09:16:31

I echo Anya's comment!

Disgruntled Sun 08-Jan-17 09:25:09

I do wish she had run for president......

Neversaydie Sun 08-Jan-17 09:47:59

Unfortunately she had nade it very clear she does not intend to run for President .
But people do change their minds ......

Greyduster Sun 08-Jan-17 09:53:09

I think the dignity and inspiration that the Obama's brought to the Presidency will be sorely missed, and she was a wonderful First Lady. There are those who think that he was not a very effective President, but he was a steady hand on the tiller and did nothing to soil the reputation of his country. America now has a loose cannon. I wish them well of him.

Jane10 Sun 08-Jan-17 10:17:49

The Obamas were an absolute credit to America. Dignified and intelligent. I'd like to think they'll have some private time to just be a family for a while.
Michelle would certainly be a credible presidential candidate but it sounds such a horrible life that I hope she doesn't go for it.
