Paul Nuttell is according to the poles is 10% ahead in the Stoke bi-election, so I thought I would look at some of his beliefs. I was astounded at how similar they are to Trumps.

1. Privatisation of the NHS - this has been taken from his website because he needs the votes. Privatisation of the NHS doesn't attract votes.

2. Wants a referendum to vote on restricting woman's rights. He is anti-abortion, and believes that there should be a ban on adverts for family planning and abortion.

3. Burka ban. In all public buildings.

4. Against banning discrimination against gays.

5. So he believes in placing restrictions on Muslim belief/culture, but is against any restriction to Christian beliefs.

6. Thinks sexist comment are OK, and against placing restrictions on these type of comments.

No wonder he was so thrilled when Trump won the election.

How come Nigel Farage has a £m flat in London, a family home somewhere in the country, plus an apartment in Brussels and he's not a member of the elite?

POGS Mon 06-Feb-17 12:33:57

Thank you for replying.

So in other words if a poster calls another a Gfer who practices Gfery they are calling them a Goady Fucker but what:-

1)Too tired to type in full?

2) Is using this abbreviation trying to make being so personal against another poster look less ignorant?.

3) Why not just call somebody a Goady Fucker, if your intention is to insult somebody why not use the maximum impact and write the words in full?.

4). Isn't using an abbreviation giving the meaning is so blunt a tad cowardly , or is it purely lazy posting?

Perhaps Gfer or Gfery should be added to GN list of abbreviations so we could ALL understand the meaning?

Mair Mon 06-Feb-17 12:35:41

Suzied
He's hated by the elite. Wealth alone does not make you a member.

rosesarered Mon 06-Feb-17 12:37:21

Actually I think it is both lazy and cowardly to just do the abbreviation, and since when was anything good about adopting Mumsnet speak?t

GracesGranMK2 Mon 06-Feb-17 12:38:54

So what does make you a member Mair?

Elite - a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society:

You seem to see him as superior in ability, etc. Perhaps it is that not enough people see him in this way so he is not elite because he is inferior?

Jalima Mon 06-Feb-17 12:39:15

Someone called me one and I thought it could be rude so didn't want to know what it meant.
I do now!!

All because I started a nice 'interesting' thread which I thought would be a change from some of the rather horrible threads.

Perhaps it says more about the person using the expression than the one it is aimed at.

Ana Mon 06-Feb-17 12:39:27

I still don't know what biscuit is supposed to mean...confused

Anniebach Mon 06-Feb-17 12:42:02

I strongly objected to the use of the f word, coarse, common, vulgar

POGS Mon 06-Feb-17 12:43:16

MPs do not have to live in their constituency. In fact, there is no residency qualification at all - an MP could even live outside the UK. There are, however, nationality and age qualifications and a number of other disqualifications for MPs.

I don't understand the obsession with Paul Nuttall , other than political bias showing it's hypocritical head.

Are some posters of the belief that there are absolutely NO MP's within the political parties they support who reside outside of their constituencies?

Mair Mon 06-Feb-17 12:45:08

GG am using 'elite' in this sense:

a group of persons exercising the major share of authority or influence within a larger group:

the power elite of a major political party.

Jalima Mon 06-Feb-17 12:45:10

I have just realised that my post was referred to, not me personally, so the poster was carefully avoiding having the post deleted.

However, you learn something new every day on GN.
But I still don't know what Ana's nice emoticon means.

Mair Mon 06-Feb-17 12:46:50

Nail on head POGS

That's why I haven't bothered with getting involved. Silly pointless sniping by the UKIP haters.

JessM Mon 06-Feb-17 12:59:57

It's a thread about the UKIP leader POGS.
Should we assume that those protesting about the nature of the thread, or trying to derail it are "UKIP lovers" ?

Ana Mon 06-Feb-17 13:04:10

Ofgs, why not just come out with it Jess?

Mair, are you a UKIP supporter?

Mair Mon 06-Feb-17 13:14:11

I'd call myself a qualified UKIP supporter rather than a loyal one Ana. I live in a fairly marginal seat now and have always been inclined to vote tactically.

petra Mon 06-Feb-17 13:14:28

Oh so that's what I am ( a GFer). That's you and me both, jalima
It's good to know, though, what pushes people's buttons grin now that is being a GFer.

whitewave Mon 06-Feb-17 13:23:29

pogs of course its political bias.

As far as I am concerned I despise everything UKIP stands for, so yes I am biased very biased.

I hate the populist movement, I hate the rise of the right. I hate the division it is causing, I hate the fascism, I hate the the fact that I hate it!!!!!

This sort of politics I thought never to be repeated in my lifetime.

petra Mon 06-Feb-17 13:28:48

Denmark need to be worried. I've just been reading about Pernille Vermund. She is the leader of Nye Borgerlige ( new far right)
They now have enough members for her to run for parliament in 2019. She's being advised by Nigel Farage.

whitewave Mon 06-Feb-17 13:43:04

We all need to be worried

Iam64 Mon 06-Feb-17 14:00:15

Sorry I'm being dim here I scrolled back but can't find out what a Gfer is. Anyone ?

Jalima Mon 06-Feb-17 14:01:10

Not me
I don't swear wink

whitewave Mon 06-Feb-17 14:04:35

I think it's a puerile taunt iam64 but haven't bothered to find out what it means.

Anniebach Mon 06-Feb-17 14:23:21

whitewave, I don't see it as being biased , can one who is against the far right be called biased? No.

whitewave Mon 06-Feb-17 14:25:53

I do agree annie but there are some UKIP supporters on GN that will naturally not agree.
