Paul Nuttell is according to the poles is 10% ahead in the Stoke bi-election, so I thought I would look at some of his beliefs. I was astounded at how similar they are to Trumps.

1. Privatisation of the NHS - this has been taken from his website because he needs the votes. Privatisation of the NHS doesn't attract votes.

2. Wants a referendum to vote on restricting woman's rights. He is anti-abortion, and believes that there should be a ban on adverts for family planning and abortion.

3. Burka ban. In all public buildings.

4. Against banning discrimination against gays.

5. So he believes in placing restrictions on Muslim belief/culture, but is against any restriction to Christian beliefs.

6. Thinks sexist comment are OK, and against placing restrictions on these type of comments.

No wonder he was so thrilled when Trump won the election.

I tried to PM her and was told it wasn't possible.

Jalima Mon 13-Feb-17 12:59:45

Can't wait! Cats and pigeons come to mind.

Anyway, if UKIP don't have any policies whitewave I can't really criticise them apart from the one.
Here you are, apparently this is it, the manifesto:
www.ukip.org/ukip_manifesto_summary

Unless that is fake too.

I don't read all of the posts - Ana says Mair said she was a woman, so I'll accept that at face value.

Jalima Mon 13-Feb-17 13:00:59

It's all nearly north to me daphnedill

Jalima Mon 13-Feb-17 13:01:29

confused that didn't make sense but ykwim I hope

Ana Mon 13-Feb-17 13:02:19

We did have a poster who sometimes shared his username. You could tell because one of them spelled 'bowl' as 'bowel' and wasn't as deadpan as the other.

Jalima Mon 13-Feb-17 13:07:17

I'm not sharing mine with anyone

where is everyone? Having lunch or reading the UKIP manifesto?
wink

mcem Mon 13-Feb-17 13:14:30

And nearly all south to me jalima.
Let's not be too southcentric!!

Jalima Mon 13-Feb-17 13:17:00

grin
Do you wear a deerstalker hat to keep your ears warm mcem?

(actually DH has one a bit like that, it hasn't been cold enough to wear it this year, I think I bought it in TK Maxx or Lidl, very posh)

Ana Mon 13-Feb-17 13:24:05

And here's one of the previous leaders of UKIP during a former incarnation...

whitewave Mon 13-Feb-17 13:25:55

That isn't a rounded political manifesto, it is a collection of sound bites and what they hope will be populist policies.

If you give it any sort of serious consideration you'll understand it will never run a country.

MawBroon Mon 13-Feb-17 13:28:18

That is hilarious !!! I expect he'd rather forget that.
Thank you grin

mcem Mon 13-Feb-17 13:37:42

Tend not to J as it occasionally interferes with the forelock-tugging in the presence of my betters.

Jalima Mon 13-Feb-17 16:27:46

MawBroon less of your giggling please - everyone has to start somewhere!

Even Roger Moore modelled knitting patterns grin

Exactly DJ- the troulble with UKIP - well one of many is that for a party constantly harking back to the England of yesteryear, it has no sense or knowledge of history.

Rigby46 Mon 13-Feb-17 17:31:05

Or else it has and this was deliberate?

whitewave Mon 13-Feb-17 17:41:49

That's more like it rig They need to be fined very heavily that should stop future "errors"

JessM Mon 13-Feb-17 19:43:19

Clothes sense hasn't improved. Why dress like your grandfather?
Most men in 50s wear quite normal things, not grandad outfits.

daphnedill Tue 14-Feb-17 14:28:41

Oh dear! Nuttall has admitted that he didn't lose close personal friends at Hillsborough, as he claimed on his website.

His body language in this video is quite telling:

www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/ukips-paul-nuttall-admits-claims-12602630

I don't think he's going to be very popular in Liverpool.

daphnedill Tue 14-Feb-17 14:37:02

Strangely enough the claim has just been removed. Silly man obviously doesn't know about Google cache.

If he's not toast, he deserves to be.

JessM Tue 14-Feb-17 22:29:19

Pity he's standing in Stoke really (not Liverpool).
But surely now his brushes with the truth are beginning to affect his reputation amongst the voters?

Anniebach Tue 14-Feb-17 22:35:03

I think he has won votes for Labour.

durhamjen Tue 14-Feb-17 22:43:43

Here's a conundrum. Do we believe her?

Don't know, thinking of how protective those young women are protective of Corbyn dhe could be taking the blame or she could have written it
