Paul Nuttell is according to the poles is 10% ahead in the Stoke bi-election, so I thought I would look at some of his beliefs. I was astounded at how similar they are to Trumps.

1. Privatisation of the NHS - this has been taken from his website because he needs the votes. Privatisation of the NHS doesn't attract votes.

2. Wants a referendum to vote on restricting woman's rights. He is anti-abortion, and believes that there should be a ban on adverts for family planning and abortion.

3. Burka ban. In all public buildings.

4. Against banning discrimination against gays.

5. So he believes in placing restrictions on Muslim belief/culture, but is against any restriction to Christian beliefs.

6. Thinks sexist comment are OK, and against placing restrictions on these type of comments.

No wonder he was so thrilled when Trump won the election.

All this belittling of Mrs May is particularly ironic when it's perfectly clear that there isn't one other person apart from perhaps Phillip Hammond, in the whole of the House of Commons who could even begin to negotiate our way out of the EU, never mind come to any conclusion, successful or otherwise!
No, I don't support UKIP as has been suggested! I think this post makes that perfectly clear!!

Rigby46 Sat 25-Feb-17 07:51:26

Well you certainly can't nn and some of you never leave the playground btw

nigglynellie Sat 25-Feb-17 07:24:11

Oh dear dj, surely you can do better than that?!!

rosesarered Fri 24-Feb-17 23:32:41

Back in the playground again......sigh!

Rigby46 Fri 24-Feb-17 23:04:59

dj grin x 100

durhamjen Fri 24-Feb-17 23:04:07

Why are you so intolerant of people who hold different opinions to you, niggly?
Always belittling, always so critical! At times it's deeply unpleasant.

Chewbacca Fri 24-Feb-17 23:00:45

Excellent post Niggly, excellent post.

Rigby46 Fri 24-Feb-17 22:47:53

Wow wow wow niggly - did you post that without blushing?

nigglynellie Fri 24-Feb-17 22:28:51

Repeated with gusto by you dj, no surprise there! Why are you always so intolerant to anyone who holds different opinions to you?! Always belittling, always so critical! At times it's deeply unpleasant.

durhamjen Fri 24-Feb-17 20:55:07

Well done, niggly. That was the Libdem spokesman that said that. Did you not notice the quotation marks?

rosesarered Fri 24-Feb-17 19:17:52

Political parties always have a 'good excuse' for why they did badly grin instead of saying that nobody much wanted to vote for them.

nigglynellie Fri 24-Feb-17 19:12:02

Ukips unofficial leader in No 10 etc should give you a clue!

durhamjen Fri 24-Feb-17 18:48:50

What are you on about, niggly?

Iam64 Fri 24-Feb-17 18:47:36

POGS I suspect most if not all the people who voted Labour in Stoke will have seen Snell's comments as sexist etc.
Your comment about what the voters will let pass when it comes to candidates and politics applies to the new POTUS

nigglynellie Fri 24-Feb-17 18:40:38

Honestly dj, even for you the jibe at Mrs May is really pathetic!!!

Jalima Fri 24-Feb-17 18:25:09

That sounds like sour grapes to me

durhamjen Fri 24-Feb-17 14:37:47

"The Potteries decided there was no need to have UKIP’s official leader in parliament when UKIP’s unofficial leader is already in Number 10, pursuing a hard Brexit."

"We would have done even better but for many voters, drawn to the Lib Dems, who felt they just couldn’t risk being represented by a UKIP MP, so reluctantly backed Labour. Paul Nuttall called this seat Brexit Central but it turned out to be the end of the line for UKIP."

LibDem response.

POGS Fri 24-Feb-17 13:58:01

He was lucky alright.

It is a generalised point I was making. It just goes to show what the electorate will choose to 'ignore', decide to 'let pass' when it comes to candidates and politics doesn't it.

If the character of the candidates were an issue to voters neither Snell nor Nuttall would have survived , let alone come 1st and 2nd.

JessM Fri 24-Feb-17 13:49:40

At a risk of being utterly trivial, what kind of numbskull tries to fashion himself as a working class hero and then dresses up as a stereotypical country squire to campaign. UKIP has always been a one trick pony (one well funded by Arron Banks). Their coverage by the press was always completely out of proportion to the number of members (and MPs) They have not been able to attract good candidates.
Hoping that you-know-who does not make another comeback.

durhamjen Fri 24-Feb-17 13:36:13

I wonder if Nuttall will apply for the Leicester manager's job.

durhamjen Fri 24-Feb-17 13:28:04

That wasn't lucky, that was Nuttall being an idiot.
Who says people didn't see Snell's tweeting history as sexist, crude and offensive? How do you know that's not why two thousand previous Labour voters did not vote for him?

POGS Fri 24-Feb-17 13:14:01

Well I am sticking with my view that Stoke Central voters had a choice of 2 poor candidates in Snell and Nuttall.

Gareth Snell's tweeting history would be deemed as offensive , sexist and crude had he not been a Labour candidate it seems, very odd.

Labour were always going to win Stoke Central in my opinion but boy was Snell lucky the focus remained on Nuttall.

I was simply hoping for more virtual money back on my bet, the odds weren't as good for Labour winning.grin

daphnedill Fri 24-Feb-17 10:25:42

I was spot on! grin
