Paul Nuttell is according to the poles is 10% ahead in the Stoke bi-election, so I thought I would look at some of his beliefs. I was astounded at how similar they are to Trumps.

1. Privatisation of the NHS - this has been taken from his website because he needs the votes. Privatisation of the NHS doesn't attract votes.

2. Wants a referendum to vote on restricting woman's rights. He is anti-abortion, and believes that there should be a ban on adverts for family planning and abortion.

3. Burka ban. In all public buildings.

4. Against banning discrimination against gays.

5. So he believes in placing restrictions on Muslim belief/culture, but is against any restriction to Christian beliefs.

6. Thinks sexist comment are OK, and against placing restrictions on these type of comments.

No wonder he was so thrilled when Trump won the election.

Betfair has a 60% chance of Labour winning, and a 35% chance of UKIP. Doesn't leave much hope for anybody else.

Good tweets on here.

POGS Wed 15-Feb-17 21:02:05

I find it interesting so little response has been shown as to how posters viewed Labours candidate tweets so I assume he is not seen as putting a foot wrong by some. Either that or there is little to no interest in the by election but more interest in sticking it to UKIP.

I have no words of defence for Paul Nuttall but equally the question is what words of defence is there for the comments made by Gareth Snell?

Anybody who is interested in the by election and the candidates BBC Sunday Politics West Midlands aired a debate last Sunday between the 5 main contenders. You might have watched it but if not it might be of interest, it was hosted by Patrick Burns the usual Sunday Politics Political Editor.

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08cw4jn/sunday-politics-west-midlands-12022017

It is obviously on iPlayer and as per the usual format of Sunday Politics the debate is roughly 30 minutes into the show when it goes out to the local regions, hence not everybody will have known it was available.

I've seen the Tweets POGS and I suspect any half-decent candidate would make mincemeat with the Labour candidate in most other constituencies. However, Nuttall is in another league. He might even have got away with it before the referendum, but his claim to be the champion of the decent, honest, anti-establishment '(wo)man on the street' is in tatters, apart from not having anything constructive to say anyway. He's only shown any interest in Stoke to further his own career.

daphnedill Wed 15-Feb-17 21:26:12

PS. This thread is headed 'UKIP leader' not 'Stoke by-election'. Of course, Gareth Snell has put his foot in it.

durhamjen Wed 15-Feb-17 21:52:15

Nuttall's website is offline for "scheduled maintenance".
I wonder what will be missing when it returns.

POGS Wed 15-Feb-17 22:03:22

" This thread is headed 'UKIP leader' not 'Stoke by-election'. Of course, Gareth Snell has put his foot in it."

Beg pardon what is your point?

Have you and others not been posting on the Stoke by-election?

Does the OP not mention the Stoke by-election?

So transparent!

whitewave Wed 15-Feb-17 22:05:24

dj most things I would imagine.

durhamjen Wed 15-Feb-17 22:21:48

One good thing has come out of Nuttall's campaign. Farage has actually gone to Europe to do some work. He's had an argument with someone working for Nuttall and gone off in a huff.

durhamjen Wed 15-Feb-17 22:23:44

You could start your own thread, POGS, about the Stoke by election. Then you can talk all you want about the Labour candidate.

daphnedill Wed 15-Feb-17 22:54:46

Apparently, Farage has said that he won't campaign in Stoke, because he doesn't like Lisa Duffy, who's co-ordinating the campaign. Nuttall is on his own.

Have you started the new thread yet POGS?

MawBroon Wed 15-Feb-17 22:57:05

Is that bad news or good news for Nuttall I wonder. What a farce!

Anniebach Wed 15-Feb-17 23:09:56

As this thread is about Nuttall and he is standing in a by election in the hope of taking the seat from labour why not discuss it ?

Anniebach Wed 15-Feb-17 23:11:28

Daphne, you mentioned Stoke on this thread tut tut tut

daphnedill Wed 15-Feb-17 23:13:58

Wind your neck in, annie. I'm tired of your comments directed at me.

POGS Wed 15-Feb-17 23:16:43

durhamjen.

'You could start your own thread, POGS, about the Stoke by election. Then you can talk all you want about the Labour candidate."

You are being so transparent, absolutely absurd and to be honest you and yours trying to deflect from the quality of Labours candidate by ' telling me' this thread should not be about the Stoke by-election is beyond preposterous.

Look at the time line of where 'you' started talking about the Stoke by-election and you and yours are just laughable.

'Stoke has been let down by parachuted-in candidates for too long. The last thing the city needs is to fall into the hands of Paul Nuttall, who sees it as a political pawn rather than his home and community. It’s about time Stoke was represented by a true Stokie!'

I could go on and on showing your posts where you post on the Stoke by-election whilst 'telling others' they should not do like wise but I guess you have form in trying to shut down debate over any negative Labour posts.

durhamjen Fri 03-Feb-17 22:36:29

It's a UKIP thread, Annie, not a let's knock Labour thread.

Talk about 'Do as I say not Do as I do". Bloody cheek.

POGS Wed 15-Feb-17 23:22:25

daphnedil

'Have you started the new thread yet POGS?'

I could put all your posts where you are mentioning the Stoke by-election too! Do you ever read your posts? Have you somehow blanked them out?

Another 'Do as I say not Do as I do' hypocrite.

POGS Wed 15-Feb-17 23:23:37

daphnedil

'Wind your neck in, annie. I'm tired of your comments directed at me.'

Irony or what?

durhamjen Wed 15-Feb-17 23:26:10

OOH, daphne. We're both hypocrites now. Do you mind being linked with me?
I got a longer rebuttal than you.

durhamjen Wed 15-Feb-17 23:28:47

Not like you to get so angry, POGS.

POGS Wed 15-Feb-17 23:33:20

durhamjen

You are the gift that keeps on giving.

Not angry love, just can't stand hypocrisy.

durhamjen Wed 15-Feb-17 23:46:41

"I could go on and on showing your posts where you post on the Stoke by-election whilst 'telling others' they should not do like wise but I guess you have form in trying to shut down debate over any negative Labour posts."

I couldn't care less about shutting down debate over negative Labour posts. Once Annie goes on and on about Corbyn, I just ignore her for a while. That's not shutting her down.
Why is suggesting you start a thread about Labour shutting down debate? It's asking you to START a debate ABOUT Labour.

POGS Wed 15-Feb-17 23:54:26

durhamjen

No thank you

I will carry on if I so wish from your posts and plenty of 'other posters' who have raised the Stoke by-election.

durhamjen Thu 16-Feb-17 00:03:40

skwawkbox.org/2017/02/15/exclusive-farage-points-at-nuttall-fraud-and-nuttall-points-too-stokecentral-hillsborough/

Nuttall most definitely misappropriated EU funds, using EU staff as UKIP staff. This is what the OLAF investigation is about.
Both Lisa Duffy and Lynda Roughley are fulltime EU workers paid for by EU money. As such they are prohibited from working for UKIP in the UK.

daphnedill Thu 16-Feb-17 07:03:13

Are you sure Lynda Roughley is a full-time EU worker? She also works as a court reporter for the Wirral Globe. I have no idea how she's paid for the work she does for Nuttall.

suzied Thu 16-Feb-17 07:09:14

Perhaps Paul Nuttall 's memory has been damaged by all those years of heading the ball when he was a professional footballer.
