Apologies if there is a new Trump thread, but the only one I could find had hit the magic 1000 posts mark.
Just seen this on Facebook. Makes excellent sense.

Yes, sorry, NotTooOld. I knw I should have checked before I sent it.
Anyway, the sentiment was the same.

Have you seen that Michael Bloomberg is saying that the US will meet its Paris commitments. They do not need Washington to tell them what to do. He was the mayor of New York, now the UN special envoy on climate change.

dj - wasn't it Pittsburg and Paris, not Pennsylvania? I saw the Mayor (or whatever) of Pittsburg on TV complaining they had been mentioned by Trump and vowing to ignore his latest edict.

durhamjen Sat 03-Jun-17 22:49:08

Did you watch the Last Leg, when they were taking the mick out of trump for saying he had been elected by the people of Pennsylvania not Paris, as if he thought the Paris agreement was only for the people in Paris, and only those living in Geneva had any human rights?
The frightening thing is that he probably does think that, and would be surprised if anybody told him any differently.

I like that, whitewave - 'Trump's vulgarity and crassness' - good description, that. Oh dear, the world is in such a mess.....

whitewave Sat 03-Jun-17 19:59:04

It will be fascinating to see how Maybot manages to keep Trumpty onside. She thinks she needs him because of Brexit, which puts her in a very subservient position.

One wonders how much of Trumps vulgarity and crassness she will support .

The Tories have received upwards of £500k from oil bosses according to the Independent. Now we know why she didn't sign the letter.

Boris has said that May doesn't need to tag along...
He's really dropping himself in it tonight.

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 22:53:27

Brilliant.
On Newsnight just now Emily Maitlis has just said that May's response to trump was what you say when you have a disappointing souffle!!!

varian Fri 02-Jun-17 20:07:28

You are right, ww TM is spineless and lets us all down.

whitewave Fri 02-Jun-17 19:33:54

I quite like Macron smile

whitewave Fri 02-Jun-17 19:31:22

Another embarrassment - the entire world condemns Trump except the U.K. My god woman where is your spine????

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 14:03:59

I hope no nuclear power laughs at him.

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 14:02:29

May claimed that Canada and Japan hadn't signed the letter either.
Since when were they in Europe?

Lib Dem Climate change spokesman Ed Davey, writing in the Guardian says "China and the EU confront Trump on climate change. May just fawns over him"

Trump is an utter disgrace. It is scary to think that May wants to get closer to him if the brexit disaster goes ahead and we lose so many friends.

Shows how grown up he is, then.

TriciaF Fri 02-Jun-17 11:08:49

I heard some of his speech yesterday - he kept saying "They laughed at us" sounding so hurt. Maybe it was partly because of Macron's snub, when they first met - it hurt his pride.

Can you imagine May doing this?

Anya Fri 02-Jun-17 07:55:20

America first. Earth last.

Luckylegs9 Fri 02-Jun-17 07:43:23

What an arrogant and provocative thing to do. He is toxic.

whitewave Fri 02-Jun-17 07:26:25

Apparently May phoned to voice her disapproval. I expect they had a nice cosy chat, with her reminding him she still exists and please don't forget us when it comes to handing out trade agreements.

durhamjen Fri 02-Jun-17 00:19:02

Trump has withdrawn from the Paris agreement. All other G7 countries have condemned him, apart from the UK.
Why have we not?

durhamjen Thu 01-Jun-17 17:38:47

Liberal elite's fault, then. Any of those on here?

'Sources who spoke to the Guardian said it was Farage’s proximity to people at the heart of the investigation that was being examined as an element in their broader inquiry into how Russia may have worked with Trump campaign officials to influence the US election.

“One of the things the intelligence investigators have been looking at is points of contact and persons involved,” one source said. “If you triangulate Russia, WikiLeaks, Assange and Trump associates the person who comes up with the most hits is Nigel Farage.

“He’s right in the middle of these relationships. He turns up over and over again. There’s a lot of attention being paid to him.”

The source mentioned Farage’s links with Roger Stone, Trump’s long-time political adviser who has admitted being in contact with Guccifer 2.0, a hacker whom US intelligence agencies believe to be a Kremlin agent.'
