Apologies if there is a new Trump thread, but the only one I could find had hit the magic 1000 posts mark.
Just seen this on Facebook. Makes excellent sense.

I thought Spicer was supposed to be the next to be pushed. What's he still doing there? Maybe nobody wants to take over his job.

whitewave Tue 14-Feb-17 19:01:24

Probably holding fire now that he's lost one. Two would be a tad embarrassing.

Jalima Tue 14-Feb-17 19:04:48

AlieOxon I just said to DH, 'well, they've certainly come up trumps there' meaning as a positive thing to happen - only to be told 'you're not allowed to say that any more dear' .

another saying gone down the pc drain. hmm

durhamjen Tue 14-Feb-17 19:10:14

I don't think you can call that pc. Just saves you feeling nauseous, that's all.

Jalima Tue 14-Feb-17 19:12:51

It was a good saying though

'They came up trumps there!'
Quite a jolly one in fact.

A pity, it will now have an alternative meaning.

whitewave Tue 14-Feb-17 19:12:51

Spicer is busy spinning. Perhaps he'll be let off. He's now saying that Trump is being really tough with Russia - they are re-writing the past - the trouble is it is only a few weeks ago and we can all remember what trump was saying about being friendly with Russia.

I didn't know that Obama had fired him for extreme views? Flynn that is. Too cosy with Russia and not very competent. Apparently.

durhamjen Tue 14-Feb-17 22:12:34

Anyone else think this man voted for trump?

Just watching the trump press conference. Blimey!! He is rambling - incredibly embarrassing.

durhamjen Thu 16-Feb-17 19:12:26

Just what I thought, whitewave. Starting off by blaming the corrupt press was not a good idea.

whitewave Thu 16-Feb-17 19:20:03

I have never seen anything like it. Most of it was taken up with complaints about the media. At one stage he said "the leaks are real, but the news is fake" he made no sense at all. He really does seem unhinged.

He is still re-running the election campaign, accusing Clinton of things. What has that got to do with anything?

whitewave Thu 16-Feb-17 19:25:47

I don't think he is actually doing any real work. All his energies are being taken up with annoyance at media headlines.

One of the presenters has just said "how would you feel if it was your boss standing up at a meeting" and yes I would think the man had lost if.

Ankers Thu 16-Feb-17 19:31:24

I am in the middle f watching it.
No rambling whatsoever so far.

And what do you make of the press over there getting hold of his private/confidential whatever phonecalls to Mexico and Australi[could have been New Zealand].

You two write as if no one else listens to these things!!

I find it incredible!

You both assume that other posters will just take your word for things!

I will have to listen to the Russia stuff again. Seems like his supposed links with Russia are fake news too.

No wonder he goes on about the media over there.
Wouldnt you in his shoes???

Starting off about the corrupt press is a very good idea.
You wouldnt stand for it. Why should he?

Ankers Thu 16-Feb-17 19:33:05

I don't think he is actually doing any real work. All his energies are being taken up with annoyance at media headlines

He only needs very few hours sleep a night.

And I think most people think he is working at loads of things very fast indeed.

Dont you?

whitewave Thu 16-Feb-17 19:36:54

Blimey ankers you must have been watching a totally different press conference.

A Republican Senator, texted that trump should be talking to his therapist.

If you boss rambled as trump did wouldn't you be concerned!0? I would he was extraordinary.

His government is leaking like a sieve, and this isn't happening for no reason. He is not in control.

So how can you square that the leaks are right but the news about them is fake. The man is loosing touch with reality.

whitewave Thu 16-Feb-17 19:37:29

Very fast at what?

Iam64 Thu 16-Feb-17 19:38:05

Ankers - nope, I don't agree that "most people think he is working at lots of things very fast indeed"

Ankers Thu 16-Feb-17 19:44:02

His government is leaking like a sieve, and this isn't happening for no reason. He is not in control.

How do you know that it is his government that is doing it?

Recordings or transcripts or whatever of his phone calls to Mexico and Australia illegally appear in newspapers. So how do you know the leaks are from his government? [there may have beensomething about it that I have not seen. In which case you can point it out!].

So how can you square that the leaks are right but the news about them is fake

Partly done above, plus he says that CNN in particular plus a couple of other publications[washington post is one?]are writing fake news.
The russia stuff for example. Most or all of it.

Ankers Thu 16-Feb-17 19:45:32

Iam64. If you had to write what Obama did in 8 years, and what Trump has done/is doing in 3 weeks, no contest I would say.

whitewave Thu 16-Feb-17 19:45:49

How do you know they aren't from his government? If not from his government from whom?

durhamjen Thu 16-Feb-17 19:45:55

I think he needs a lot more sleep. Then he wouldn't seem so spaced out. Or maybe he would be just the same....

Ankers Thu 16-Feb-17 19:46:04

I mean relatively.
But actually..

Ankers Thu 16-Feb-17 19:46:58

I agree with that durhamjen.
Though as he sleeps so little, it could well be rest that he is very short of.

whitewave Thu 16-Feb-17 19:48:16

Brain cells more like

Ana Thu 16-Feb-17 19:50:37

grin that was funny, whitewave!
