Do you not understand what 'I doubt' means?

whitewave Sun 19-Mar-17 19:09:15

I'll ask the question. How do you know rose?

Ana Sun 19-Mar-17 18:53:56

Haven't had a reply from you yet.

durhamjen Sun 19-Mar-17 18:46:03

Ana, are you not going to ask roses how she knows?

rosesarered Sun 19-Mar-17 18:13:14

There will be heavy fines, but I doubt that there will be anything more dramatic than that.
All the political parties overspent, but the Conservatives spent the most ( this time!) who knows what happened in the past.

whitewave Sun 19-Mar-17 17:51:45

No I agree other MPs have overclaimed their expenses we know that, but the Tories do it so much better than other party MPs. And don't forget that this was the whole Tory Party not just an isolated MP.

Ana Sun 19-Mar-17 17:48:29

Are you saying that no MPs from any other party have overclaimed on their expenses? Of course not.

As for making the election results invalid... I doubt it. But carry on living in hope!

whitewave Sun 19-Mar-17 17:45:13

ana There is 100% certainty that Thanet was fraudulent - I.e. Election rules were broken.. Others are still being considered, but there is little doubt that these will be found to have broken the same rules. This will surely make the election results invalid. Tories are fond of breaking the rules aren't they. Duck house anyone?

Anniebach Sun 19-Mar-17 17:43:03

Msy will not lose her msjority, voters have a choice, May or Corbyn

Ana Sun 19-Mar-17 17:40:27

Well, I just thought durhamjen must have inside knowledge for her to make that statement. Perhaps just wishful thinking...

whitewave Sun 19-Mar-17 17:36:52

ana you need to ask the police who are carrying out the investigations and the CPS about that - it hasn't yet been decided. You can bet your life that there are frantic representations behind the scene by the Tory Party.

MaizieD Sun 19-Mar-17 17:36:09

I think the answer is, Ana, we don't know. The files have been passed to the CPS. It's up to them to decide if there's enough evidence to prosecute.

Ana Sun 19-Mar-17 17:32:37

I asked when the Tories were being taken to Court, not what investigations are going on, which we all know about.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 19-Mar-17 17:32:35

I think May believed in this Jen and I can understand why. In her day the Class system was very structured and a Grammar School education put in another layer between working and upper class which people couldn't otherwise have reached. I just don't think that has been the case over recent years. Comprehensives have added to the flattening of the class system and what still exists has unsurmountable jumps from one level to another for most people - however clever and hardworking they are. The problem is not giving our children a special school for the gifted and talented offering each child an appropriate academic and skills education within the same environment.

This will update anyone who hasn't had a chance to catch up.
Cross-party alliance takes on Theresa May over grammar schools

whitewave Sun 19-Mar-17 17:22:20

The fraud thing is on - there at least a dozen police services looking into the fraud, and at least one dead cert that may become a bye election - Thanet, along with a number of others.

durhamjen Sun 19-Mar-17 17:14:15

Yes, I've been reading about that, Gracesgran. Do you reckon May is using the education debacle to deflect from her other problems? If so, it isn't working.

Ana Sun 19-Mar-17 17:13:45

When are the Tories being taken to Court for election fraud then?

GracesGranMK2 Sun 19-Mar-17 17:05:41

Certainly nothing wrong with that Jen and there are even a handful of Tories who might move over if the reaction to Grammar schools is anything to go by.

whitewave Sun 19-Mar-17 17:01:18

I agree dj just wish they'd get on with it.

durhamjen Sun 19-Mar-17 16:50:00

Nothing wrong with a Lib/Labour/Green coalition.

Anniebach Sun 19-Mar-17 16:49:08

You seem to have forgotten the thstcher years whitewave, it may not have been a divided part of the country where you were living but it was war in South Wales

durhamjen Sun 19-Mar-17 16:48:29

You wrote it, Annie. I was sure you'd made a mistake.

durhamjen Sun 19-Mar-17 16:47:28

I think it will end after the Tories have been taken to court over the election fraud. May will have to call a general election then, as she will have lost her majority, in my opinion.

whitewave Sun 19-Mar-17 16:47:08

grin

Anniebach Sun 19-Mar-17 16:46:51

Labour and UKIP in s coalition ? I think not,
