How do you hang your washing out?

Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢
Quoting breaking news in the Guardian. Davis is quoted as saying...
“The government is clear in its aims: a deal that works for every nation and region of the UK and indeed for all of Europe – a new, positive partnership between the UK and our friends and allies in the European Union.”
Feeling a bit in shock at those words, as at no time have I felt they are at all clear in their aims. The regions of the UK are disaparate with very different needs and fears. The nations of the UK have very different views of what is best for them, Scotland in particular being very forthright in stating their opposition to what is planned. Finally, what can he possibly mean by a deal that is good for all of Europe? Is he cynically saying EU members will be glad to see the back of us?
Theresa May is fast becoming a European dictator, varian.
This day will almost certainly go down in history as a very sad day for Europe, and for the world but a catastrophically bad day for our country. The day when Great Britain started to become Little Britain.
I am not someone who has quietly accepted that the so-called "will of the people", (37% of those eligible to vote in an advisory referendum), has to be acted on no matter how much damage it might do.
I do accept that it is unlikely that we can remain in the European Union which has benefited us all so much in our lifetimes, but we must do everything in our power to prevent our children and grandchildren's future being damaged for the wrong political ends.
People should listen to Lord Kerr, the legal expert who wrote Article 50. It may be very difficult to stop it, but it could be stopped.
I agree, varian. Not only will Great Britain become Little Britain, May also said it would be a Global Britain.
She appears to have forgotten that she called global citizens citizens of nowhere. Nowhere Britain, eh?
I am so sad today. I've been occasionally reading but mostly avoiding threads about Brexit because I can't believe how many people in this country are closet xenophobes who would rather resurrect 1930s style nationalism than embrace a world where cooperation and peaceful coexistence are going to be key in a difficult future concerned with climate change, a rising world population and increasing pressure on diminishing resources.
We have aggressive politics taking over in the US, Russia and China (who today were reported to be arming the artificial islands they have constructed in the South China Seas), this silly little country has no power and never will have again. Instead of cooperating with our nearest neighbours we have constructed an absurd edifice to cover up the failure of David Cameron to control Eurosceptics within the Tory party.
But actually what really seals my despair is this, which happened yesterday where I live and it is a direct result of Brexit and what has been unleashed as a result. I no longer want to be part of this society.

It's the start of something good ( which is what many who voted Leave think) not at all this 'Little Britain' stuff/ gloom/doom/end of the world scenario.
Even those who voted Remain, were ( many of them) not so in love with the EU that they were blinded to all the faults. The EU could have avoided this by giving Cameron something substantial to bring back before the referendum, but it was pitiful and he came back with nothing, which was the beginning of the end and why so many voted to Leave.
Good god! He's lucky, Azie. It's terrible that such a thing can happen. As you say, it's because of Brexit and what has been unleashed.
I'll be kind, roses, and believe you had not read Azie's post before you posted.
Thanks Durhamjen and how kind you are both to respond and to give people the benefit of the doubt. The man in the corner shop was the nicest you could imagine. What happened is horrifying but some would rather pretend they're living in LaLaland.
'silly little country''?!! I don't think so!! How dismissive is that! No, we who voted to leave do not want this country to go back to the 1930's in any way whatsoever, even I wasn't born then!! We on here are not Xenophobic, homophobic, or anything else of that nature. However we all do feel sincerely that this country will fare much better outside that lumbering outdated oppressive collossus that the EU has become and the worry about what it may well become.
Today has not been all good. On another forum I have read some awful posts but can I say thank you to those on both sides who have taken great trouble to explain how and why they feel what they feel in such a measured way.
Look at the link, please, niggly, before you say anything else.
Cameron did come back with something!!! However, as you don't read papers, you probably didn't read about it.
So what good is about to start?
Ahem! I've seen plenty of xenophobia on GN.
I hadn't ( am not the fastest typer) but it doesn't negate what I just said.
How many foreign ( or British born Asian) shopkeepers are attacked year on year? Quite a few, long before Brexit.Do not blame all bar the weather on us leaving the EU.
So how will it fare better niggly?
If you have a case, let's hear about rather than the silly name calling.
I take back what I said.
They attacked a Polish boy first, then attacked a Sikh shop keeper who went to protect him.
They drove fast at the shopkeeper, then reversed over him.
That's just normal, everyday happening, is it? Not in my world.
Bet it's not normal in the Home Counties, either.
Ahem! I've seen plenty of xenophobia on GN.
which threads? I would have thought that GNHQ would challenge that immediately
But, as you say, it is not normal and that is why we are shocked when we hear about things like that.
'out dated, lumbering collossus' is pretty dismissive, too nn. It's just an opinion, as is Azie's 'silly little country'. We're continually being told that we're all entitled to express our opinions on here, so we do. I think we should be able to do it without being told off by self appointed thought police...
Azie I too was horrified by the story you posted the link. I do hope the perpetrators are caught and punished and that Mr Singh makes a full recovery.
Not normal anywhere( but that kind of thing, mindless thuggery for the sake of it) does happen and has always happened, and now and then will happen in the future.
They will be found and punished, it's awful, but the Polish boy could have been anyone they didn't happen to like , Greek, Irish, African.
Daphne I do remember that Mr Cameron spent a long time going around Europe talking to and being ignored by all the heads of state. But I can't for the life of me remember what he did come back with! (I'm on rather a lot of pain killers at the moment) Seriously! What did he achieve?
A terrible thing that happened in Stroud Azie. I hope they lock up the little b****rs when they catch them and throw away the keys.
That's truly shocking Azie, nasty little thugs, and you would think that Stroud would be a lovely peaceful place to live.
Let's hope they are both making a good recovery and they catch the little *** and put them where they belong.
That poor man's injuries may not be "life changing" in the physical sense but I bet they are life changing in just about every other way.

NKF. Here you are - what EU agreed with Cameron. It was actually quite a lot.
Not English, though, roses. Sort of makes the point - xenophobic.
Here is what you voted for.
