Anti-Brexit march tomorrow WILL go ahead

I just assumed that someone who is Welsh and Labour would know something about the Welsh Labour conference, Annie.

Seems I am not the only one who didn't know where Corbyn was , he didn't , he was in Llandudno but thought he was in ?Denbighshire , days away out of .london doesn't suit him do they

niggly of course you can say whatever you want on a thread but you don't have any right to say it with impunity. Those who disagree with what you say can come back as much as they want and criticise as harshly as they want ( within the guidelines of course). You know where the report button is if you think there's been a breach. Opinions and observations would be so much more interesting if they were rooted in facts and evidence or a shred of political understanding. But there you go - as you were, carry on.

I agree dd, the Beeb does seem to have played it down but I think it will have made everyone who feels they want something other than a hard Brexit that they can have their say too.

I can confirm what your child reported, varian. There was a very positive and uplifting atmosphere.

AFAIK there was no violence. Ironically, it might have attracted more attention if there had been - especially from the BBC, which blanked it completely. The police were fantastic and exchanged comments and a few jokes with the marchers.

I didn't take any flowers, but many people did and placed them outside the Houses of Parliament or on Westminster Bridge. There was absolute silence, when the minute's silence was observed.

For me, the atmosphere exemplified British values. It's something I won't ever forget.

I wish I had been there. Instead, I donated to a group, some of whose members were going, to show my solidarity with them and those who wish to remain in the EU, including those leavers who have changed their minds.

I wish I had been able to be in London yesterday with the marchers. I am very proud of one of my children who was there and has said what a great up-beat atmosphere there was amongst the marchers. there was no violence, no aggro (as there might have been on a pro brexit demo).

I was glad to hear that some daffodils from our garden had been placed with the floral tributes to PC Palmer and the other victims of Wednesday's attack.

The police on duty were absolutely wonderful and many of the marchers thanked them for their work.

The sun shone and for the second time this week I actually felt proud to be a citizen on the United Kingdom.

Exactly! My criticism of Tim Farron was only my opinion and seemed to evoke incoherent fury! My criticism of the march was simply to observe that it might make more difficulties under the circumstances for an already overstretched Police Force, again only my opinion and that of another planned march, so hardly a hanging offense! On these threads we are allowed to say what we feel without being shouted at, no one has to read it or respond. I'm sure annie and I are very sorry to cause others to virtually go into meltdown with our observations as we see things, but we have as much right as anyone else to make comments as and when we please and as often as we please provided we don't break the guide lines as laid down by GN. If this makes others spit flames, then so be it, but rest assured we are within our rights to do so.
