Tomorrow's anti-Brexit march in London was scheduled to be one of the biggest ever protests. However the terrorist attack on Wednesday may have put off some of those who planned to take part. I have been told by someone who is intending to go that fake emails have been sent saying that it has been cancelled beacuse the police are overstretched. This is NOT true. Please spread the word that it is going ahead.

Nina grin

If the sun is going to be beating down on Sat.....then maybe they will all get heatstroke.
They could bring picnics.
It's quite pathetic really, that they fondly imagine it will change a democratic vote, if they shout loudly enough as they march along.

This is hilarious. Remember Mark Reckless? He used to be one half of the Ukip double act in the HoC. He's now a member of the Welsh Assembly. Here he is, pleading for access to the Single Market, assurances for migrant workers and continuation for funding, which now comes from the EU. David Davis has told Welsh sheep farmers to expect 40% tariffs to export to the EU. So why the heck did he campaign to leave the EU? What a hypocrite!

Apparently, if you drink through a straw and breathe deeply at the same time, you can really knock yourself out.

nina1959 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:24:38

Why don't you drink two bottles Riggers? You're not anaesthetised yet.

Ana Fri 24-Mar-17 22:24:34

Oh, spoke too soon hmm

Ana Fri 24-Mar-17 22:23:07

Rigby, why is it only me you're having a go at? There are plenty of other posters disagreeing with you.

Rigby46 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:19:50

F* off nina

Rigby46 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:18:57

I really am having a problem understanding why the usual suspects on here are so opposed to people exercising their democratic right to march. You've made up spurious reasons ranging from blocking off the whole of London and ruining days out for millions to the burden it will place on the police. It is utterly pathetic - the march is legal and part of our democratic rights and processes and I've just checked the weather forecast ????????. Never mind roses

nina1959 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:17:10

voted like you. Not voted to like you. I was being kind obviously.

nina1959 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:16:28

Daphnedill, I voted to like you. Happy little thread with the usual suspects on board.

nina1959 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:14:37

I was just trying to help Rigby. You sounded stressed again.

daphnedill Fri 24-Mar-17 22:13:52

It was the next insult in the "Brexiters Guide to being Nasty" rigby. I don't think they can help themselves, poor lambs.

Rigby46 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:12:06

Ana - person plans to go on march. Oh wait, someone's dgc may be having a day out in London. Person cancels going on march.

Rigby46 Fri 24-Mar-17 22:08:54

Nina - actually had a glass of white and one of red this evening. Why would I want to drink a whole bottle of gin confused. <misses point>. What was the point of your post?

daphnedill Fri 24-Mar-17 22:02:18

No, I won't stop speaking my mind about the decision to leave the EU. Get over it Ceesnan! We're not going to shut up, so buy some ear plugs and blindfolds if it upsets you so much,if you don't already have them. Carry on with the mindless "We won la la, but we haven't a clue what we voted for" mantra if it floats your boat. It's fairly typical that you have to resort to swearing. The whole situation is becoming more farcical by the day.

nina1959 Fri 24-Mar-17 21:57:52

Rigby, you need to get back to your gin. Have you tried drinking the whole bottle?

Welshwife Fri 24-Mar-17 21:52:54

Had the EU workers who contribute to the UK tax system and work in hospitals and dare homes had a vote it would have been 19 million to remain!!!

Ceesnan Fri 24-Mar-17 21:48:58

FFS they might not have been the majority of the country, but they were without doubt the majority of those who bothered to get off their arses and go and vote. Just stop bloody whingeing angry

GrandmaMoira Fri 24-Mar-17 21:41:32

Good for the people marching. Anything at all that might stop the triggering of Article 50 can only be a good thing, though I don't expect that to happen. We have been in the EU for all my adult life and all of the life of many more people and those who want to stay are not going to keep quiet. Why should we? Those that don't like it never kept quiet and now they have got their way, even though they are not a majority of the country.

rosesarered Fri 24-Mar-17 21:31:08

In that case.....I hope it pisses down.

Ana Fri 24-Mar-17 21:27:49

Oh, there'll be more than half a dozen roses, rentamob will have a field day and they don't care about anyone else's plans.

rosesarered Fri 24-Mar-17 21:23:33

Enjoy your day out marching and shouting.....all for nothing, because we are leaving the EU.So all it means is more work for the police and botheration for anyone trying to get somewhere.
Of course, there may only be half a dozen there, so maybe nobody need worry.

varian Fri 24-Mar-17 21:12:29

I hope we see a huge demonstration tomorrow of what the British values are all about. Openess, respect, fairness, the rights of minorities (who may in fact actually be a majority) to protest on behalf of all our children and grandchildren whose future could be blighted by this brexit madness.

It is nonsense to suggest that all of the 37% of the electorate who voted to leave knew exactly what they were voting for. They were fed lies. They were told (eg by MEP Daniel Hannan) "nobody is talking about leaving the single market". Some Leavers have woken up to the truth and have changed their minds.

Surely the least we should expect is, that at the end of the negotiations the British people should be offered the choice of either accepting whatever terms for leaving are offered, or, as Tim Farron and the Liberal Democrats propose, the people should be allowed an informed choice. Not take this bad deal or a worse deal (WTA rules), but a real choice of take this deal or stay as we are in the EU with all its benefits.

It is better to lose face and admit that we made a mistake in 2016 because we were misled and did not fully understand the consequenses, than to irrevocably damage the future of our children and grandchildren.

Welshwife Fri 24-Mar-17 20:10:54

After Wednesday's events there was a question as to whether the people on the March would gather in Parliament Square but after Deliberating the police decided they did not need to change any plans.

I realise you care about your family Jalima but many people do not seem to have any generous thoughts about people who have been keeping the UK going for some years. I worry very much about my family but also have great sympathy with many people of other EU nations.

trisher Fri 24-Mar-17 19:36:26

Jalima people from the EU working in the UK did not have a vote in the referendum, even though they contribute to our economy, pay their taxes and keep our public services and tourist industry running. I can see no reason why they and the people who know them and how much they contribute shouldn't express how they feel. As far as the police and security services go plans will have been made long ago and it would probably be more difficult to stand down all involved than to go ahead. There is a long history in our country of marching for our beliefs. The suffragettes did it, so did the Jarrow marchers and CND. I would have thought anyone who is in favour of promoting the British way of life would totally support such action, even if they disagreed with the cause.
