Brexit all done and dusted?

As an arch REMOANER I for one (of many) will not simply roll over and say that is that. As things progress at the very least parliament must ensure that the country does not Brexit in a bad way because of "The Will of the People". So many lies were told by both side at the time of referendum that when the full facts come to light a re-think should be considered.

I have yet to hear a sound reason for voting LEAVE. Of course the EU is far from perfect but we are better trying to change it from within than sniping from outside. A general election or second referendum before the point of absolute no return.

I happen to be visiting Brussels on an educational trip after Easter so until then I will put up and shut up unless really provoked.

You can meet whom you like for an IQ test saak. You'd probably fail!"

No not particularly, do you?

durhamjen Mon 08-May-17 21:36:54

What?
Sorry, that comment has definitely failed.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 21:37:36

If you mean I should apologise or somehow puff up my views to suit others, then the answer is no.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 21:40:27

*no I won't.

Is that better Durham?

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 21:50:10

My opinion Durham is that you constantly post in the manner of that little fella on Gullivers Travels, you come across as a very negative person. For a working class woman that has seen what mass immigration has done over the last few years, I'm absolutely delighted that Brexit is happening. I have also watched what out of touch greedy government has done to this country. It's a breath of fresh air and a fight (metaphorically speaking) that I'm willing to go all out for. I never thought that the average person would ever have a say again. We do now and I'm delighted.

durhamjen Mon 08-May-17 21:50:20

No. It still does not make sense.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 21:51:55

To you, but hey, you don't make any sense to me either in a far broader way.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 21:55:35

What are your motives for staying in the EU jen? Is it greed? Do you not want to get out of a smothering situation?

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 22:00:33

Because from where I'm sitting every single MP that isn't on board has an ulterior motive for being a "remoaner".

Welshwife Mon 08-May-17 22:22:27

Tell us one really big advantage you are expecting once we are out of the EU. Not sovereignty because we never lost that or stopping immigration as we all know that one.

durhamjen Mon 08-May-17 22:27:35

Have you seen Ukip's immigration policy, one in, one out?
That should prove interesting.

Welshwife Mon 08-May-17 22:30:26

They will need to install those counting turnstile things at the ports and airports -

durhamjen Mon 08-May-17 22:32:18

May thinks that Macron will agree to keeping the borders in France. That will be even more costly turnstiles. Unless she thinks the French will pay for them.

durhamjen Mon 08-May-17 22:33:24

It might also mean lots of people missing their planes and trains and ferries.
I don't think Nuttall thought it through at all.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 22:45:02

UKIP are no longer exist they served a fantastic purpose though. Nice try in deflection Jen.

MaizieD Mon 08-May-17 22:54:37

I have also watched what out of touch greedy government has done to this country.

Which government are you talking about saak? The only 'greedy, out of touch' one I can think of is the Tories.

durhamjen Mon 08-May-17 22:56:43

Better tell Paul Nuttall that. He was on the news tonight saying just what I said, so nobody told him.
There's a Ukip candidate in my constituency and last time he came third. Hopefully, Libdems will be back in their rightful position this time. I don't mind at all if Ukip disappear.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 22:58:57

With respect Maizie, I didn't see the last "new labour" government speak for whom they should.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 23:01:04

Explain the "libdems" ethos to me in a few words jen. I'd love to be able to understand them.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 23:03:13

What would they actually DO?

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 23:05:12

Got tempted there jen to look at your link. Very umm constructive.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 23:07:17

Libdems and labour will cut net immigration? Is it their manifesto, if so jen please send me the link.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 23:15:53

If I remember rightly didn't "whats his name" (labour) get caught
saying that a normal working class woman was racist for actually stating her concern over the sheer mass amount of people coming into the country? That was back then.

stillaliveandkicking Mon 08-May-17 23:27:05

Last thought of the daysmile Genuine concerns from genuine (non thick) working class people have brought about the end of a bureaucratic club. Im sad that the wonderful concept of the EU is not true. I feel It now needs to be disbanded. Unfortunately there isn't another party in existence to carry this through. I believe that May will do this. We all need to come together now to help this happen.
