Anyone got any information we can put onto this thread please?

Cunco Sat 20-May-17 08:33:19

In the Labour leadership head-to-head, I recall Corbyn dithering quite a while before he admitted that he actually voted 'Remain' in 2016. His principles must have changed from 'Leave' in 1975, perhaps because he judged the EU had become less centralised, inflexible and bureaucratic and more democratic over time.

I suspect I could find other examples of him dithering but life is too short and there are more pressing things to do.

Corbyn wanted out so refused to take part in any tv debates during the referendum campaigns .

Who wants to abolish the Lords but put Lady Shami in there for carrying out the anti semitism investigation

Who hugged a momentum activist after he had verbally attack an Jewish MP

Who lied on tv about traingate

Who ran a campaign to bring expelled militants back into the party.

Principles ?

Talking about fracking, Jess, there is a plan to frack under Sherwood Forest.
38 degrees has a petition against it.

durhamjen Sat 20-May-17 09:25:04

Cunco, changing your mind over 40 years is dithering, is it?
People on here change their mind in less than a year.

GracesGranMK2 Sat 20-May-17 09:26:55

I am worried that JC's promises of everything for everyone will have to be funded by massive borrowing.

Borrowing is not a bad thing in or of itself gillybob. What borrowing in particular are you worried about?

durhamjen Sat 20-May-17 09:30:59

At least Corbyn has said where the money will come from for his promises.
May has said that hers will be costed at the normal times, in the Autumn statement and the budget.
Which one of these was got rid of by Hammond?
I thought there was only going to be an Autumn budget from now on for the Cons.

trisher Sat 20-May-17 10:51:13

Public sector workers and the members of Unite are the ordinary people of this country who keep even small businesses running gillybob surely someone should stand up for them. Why is it Ok for big business to have representation and power but not for ordinary people through their unions?
There is a difference Cunco between "dithering" and changing your mind. "Dithering" implies that you are unable to decide and waver between choices. Corbyn has been accused of being too set in his ideas but now it seems he also "dithers", your only evidence being one change of mind in 40 years. It's difficult to reconcile the two.

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 10:53:18

He dithers because his ideals will not work in the real world!

durhamjen Sat 20-May-17 10:56:07

The Cons know what they have been doing.

They are the cause of it.

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 10:57:40

Somebody needs to know what they are doing!?

durhamjen Sat 20-May-17 11:01:51

So it's okay for the Cons to make life harder for people and to pretend they are the party of the people? Is that what you think?
As long as they know what they are doing?

trisher Sat 20-May-17 11:06:43

norose4 synonyms of dithers are
hesitate, falter, waver, teeter, vacillate, oscillate, fluctuate,
Corbyn has stuck to his ideals and even if you think that they will not work you have no grounds to say he "dithers' he has consistently voted with his beliefs over the years. For goodness sake try to use language correctly

rosesarered Sat 20-May-17 11:12:51

trisher we are not in school now, so perhaps curb the teacher in you which is forever correcting posters.

rosesarered Sat 20-May-17 11:15:30

If Corbyn got into power he would spend, spend ,spend ( and borrow borrow borrow) and everyone knows it.
How he and his team would handle Brexit is anybody's guess but the EU would be rubbing it's hands!

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 11:19:16

My choice of language is my choice as is yours. ideals are admirable , but if one is not prepared to at times seek to compromise , then idealism becomes dictatotism

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 11:19:51

Sorry meant dictatorism

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 11:30:01

And may I add Trisher you have shown yourself to be very arrogant

durhamjen Sat 20-May-17 11:36:59

Dictatorship?

durhamjen Sat 20-May-17 11:37:59

May I add, norose, that I think you are quite arrogant, too.

trisher Sat 20-May-17 11:43:59

It isn't arrogant to think that the correct use of language is important. Language is an important political tool and if people use words incorrectly I will question their usage. If they can justify their use then I would certainly apologise. The use of the word "dithers" was obviously meant to denigrate Corbyn and my comment was meant to point this out and to give similar treatment to a poster. Something she found unacceptable (which I expected)

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 11:46:28

Yes you may Durhamjen.

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 11:48:20

If you read the posts Trisher the dither word was not mine originally I was commenting on it , like this is a thread for commets !!

durhamjen Sat 20-May-17 11:50:50

Which is what trisher said, norose. Stop trying to deflect from the fact that May cannot be trusted with the government of this country.
No, you shouldn't vote Conservative.

norose4 Sat 20-May-17 11:58:50

Apologies for mis spellings in last post, when working as a child support at school we always encouraged pupils to try to get their opinions , points of view across without worrying about spellings , grammatical correctness, (which we would deal after they got their point of view across, ) hence building confidence rather than knocking it.
It seems to me that some posters prefer to pick people up on other people's lack of grammatical ,spelling skills ( very impolite in my opinion ) than concentrating on what the poster is trying to say. VERY RUDE

trisher Sat 20-May-17 12:00:34

As my mum always said norose4 if you don't agree with it don't repeat it. But if you are saying it was wrong and Corbyn doesn't "dither" now that's fine.
