That's a bum, can anyone cut and paste or something the manifesto that took me blood sweat and tears to do this morning please!!!???

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 14:23:37

The 48% of those who voted to remain are expected to accept that we are leaving the EU.
Corbyn was elected as leader of the Labour Party by nearly 60% of the vote, but Annie is not expected to accept him as leader.

Something not quite right there.

Wouldn't it be nice if all the personal stuff stopped on these threads?

rosesarered Fri 12-May-17 14:11:02

ab is a good example of a lifelong Labour supporter who sees Corbyn and McDonnell bringing the Labour Party down. There are many of them out there.
Will Corbyn resign when he loses? He has said not,but if he stayed would he be relected again? in that case what on earth would happen.

Anniebach Fri 12-May-17 14:06:47

Yes durhamjen, I did because I thought he was honest ,I was mistaken , I defended him because I thought we was honest, now I will not defend him, he is a liar and a hypocrite .

Any apology for your attacks on me for saying he is not a pacifist?

daphnedill Fri 12-May-17 14:05:35

~lol~ It does count in rosesland. grin

"confiscation"

rosesarered Fri 12-May-17 14:04:40

If you are now a Lib Dem dd then you are not a fan of the far left either.
I would define it as Socialist verging on Marxist.

daphnedill Fri 12-May-17 14:04:23

Did I miss the bit about confication of private property and collectivisation of the means of the production? hmm

It's about as "far left" as Merkel's CDU and it's laughable to think that she's far left - whatever the Daily Mail's headlines say.

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 14:04:01

Because I say so doesn't count.

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 14:03:17

Obviously you cannot explain why you think it's the most far left manifesto for a long time, because there is no reason for you to say it.
Can you give one instance of anyone other than the Sun/Mail saying so?

daphnedill Fri 12-May-17 14:01:42

What's "far left"? Define!

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 14:01:08

Sorry, Corbyn.

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 14:00:47

Cotbyn is the leader of the Labour Party. You voted for him, Annie.

rosesarered Fri 12-May-17 14:00:17

We all have differing views and opinions and are free to state them on here, this manifesto is the most far left for a long time and Corbyn and McDonnell are far left politicians, no matter what some posters choose to think.
You can agree with them, and look forward to having them in power, and equally you can disagree and hope to God they never will be in power.
Many Labour supporters will not support Corbyn because he is too far left , Labour is set to do badly in the GE because of this, and also because they cannot under any circumstances imagine him as PM.

Anniebach Fri 12-May-17 13:58:22

Corbyn is not the Labour Party, he is of the Momentum - Corbyn party

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 13:57:43

If a lifelong labour supporter can change her mind about who she supports, then why shouldn't Corbyn?

It's strange that one main complaint about Corbyn is that he never changes his mind, but he gets mocked when he does.
At least he explains why he said it, which is more than some do.

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 13:54:53

One major difference between Corbyn and May is that she thinks she is the Tory party; Corbyn believes in collective responsibility for policies.
The Labour Party is not Corbyn, whatever the rightwing press will have you believe.

Anniebach Fri 12-May-17 13:54:19

If Corbyn the lifelong pacifist can become an unpacifist - can't think of a word ?
And who said with hindsight he was wrong to call Hamas his friends, why can't the press do an about turn? Or anyone else ?

durhamjen Fri 12-May-17 13:50:32

"Believe the press and these proposals are “hard left” and “radical”. Yet polls show that kicking carpetbaggers such as Richard Branson off our rail network would be wildly popular. Theresa May has swiped the idea of capping energy prices. Raising the corporate tax rate to 30% would be a reversal of George Osborne’s giveaways, but it would put Britain on a par with Germany and Japan and leave it well below the going rate in that bastion of communism, the United States.

The problem with these ideas is not that they’re too radical, but that they’re not radical enough. Even if the trains were taken back into public ownership we’d still need to work out a fair way of subsidising them – and of to what ends they should be used (to funnel wage slaves into London? To form part of a rebuilding of regional economies?).

“But how will you pay for it?” is the knee-jerk media response. A fair question, and another reminder that these proposals come prematurely and without the face-saving maths that Westminster always demands. But why didn’t John Humphrys sink his teeth into George Osborne for throwing tens of billions in public money at big business and the housing market? Why was May not given a hard time over the commitments she must have given to Nissan? “How will you pay for it” is an excellent question. It’s just a shame it only gets asked of things such as health and schools and not of huge corporate largesse."

Aditya Chakrabortty in the Guardian.
He doesn't think it's far left. Neither do any of the others writing in the paper.

Theresa May pinched some of the far left ideas. Why are you not complaining about that, roses?

Anniebach Fri 12-May-17 13:49:52

Rosesarered, I agree with you, Corbyn is far left, how can anyone deny this when he fought a campaign to get expelled militants back into the party .

The same Corbyn who I have said often is not a pacifist and been mocked for saying it has now said he is not a pacifist

MaizieD Fri 12-May-17 13:49:07

Don't give up,*dd*!

I think that 'the far left' seems to be whatever the Mail, The Sun and The Express say it is grin

And they are perfectly capable of doing an about turn when it suits them, as in their treatment of the cap on fuel prices...

Anniebach Fri 12-May-17 13:45:45

Yet again, post an opinion and get mocked in a post which ends - I give up discussion seems to be impossible. Too funny

rosesarered Fri 12-May-17 13:42:48

Impossible for me to engage in any discussion with you dd as you are blaming me for all your ills in the world, and are in angry mode.
Yes, I expect quite a few on here do know what far left means, and Corbyn is it
