Yes I know it's hard to imagine that there's even more but why on earth are they going to change the voting system for electing mayors and police and crime commissioners? Oh wait a minute, is it because, surely not, that it would advantage them?

Human and a good speaker; I think I would rather have that the those who can only speak the party line.

And that was quite recently, yggd, just this month, I think, in Somerset. Her dad was rather upset.

"McDonald who called fellow labour MP's - f*****g losers , this from the stage in the O2 , is a good speaker ?"

How long ago was this, Annie? And who was the audience? Sometimes such language is appropriate.

(Unlike my MP who told a schoolgirl to "f**k off back to Scotland" smile)

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 11:18:39

Like I said, I hope it's Keir Starmer. He'll put Amber Rudd in her place.

Seriously dj ??!! Well that says everything you need to know then doesn't it

As Thatcher would have said "SHE IS FRIT"!!!!!!!!

"Have you noticed that Amber Rudd is going on the leaders TV debate instead of May?
Can't be trusted?"

No I hadn't seen that. So May knows she can't cope. And this is the woman who wants to negotiate with the EU?
And Corbyn can't be there if she won't, I wonder who he will delegate in his stead, John McDonnell maybe, he is a good speaker.

The Tories have admitted their manifesto was rubbish and they need to concentrate on Brexit to get voted back in.

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 10:12:26

I hope Labour put Keir Starmer in.

Amber Rudd hasn't changed her view about how we keep the public safe - get rid of 10,000 police officers?

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 09:51:49

Open Democracy is where I get lots of information about the NHS, and basic income.

I thought there had been a moratorium on electioneering last week. Obviously not.
I think the Tories might have made a mistake, talking about Corbyn's death tax.

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 09:25:59

Yes, she's an editor on Open Democracy, one of my favourite websites, GracesGran.

I didn't see the reviews as I'm a lark so too knackered to stay up late (for me).

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 09:16:03

It was the first time I felt that they had stopped being able to say anything they wanted about Corbyn and the Labour Party and it would go unchallenged and, conversely, they found they could not say exaggerated things about May without that being picked up on the comments.

I was really impressed with Ellie Mae O'Hagan; have you come across her before Jen?

durhamjen Sun 28-May-17 08:57:23

When I saw the reviews last night, I was thinking that they were trying really hard to be negative but they couldn't be.
They seemed quite surprised at how well Labour is doing.
It felt a bit like a pat on the head.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 08:35:29

I'm glad you made sense of my post whitewave. That first sentence is a bit garbled but I think you get the meaning!

whitewave Sun 28-May-17 08:15:27

Yes gg I see that she is beginning to lose her status as Presidential May.

Osborne is accusing her of retreating from international liberalism, and many Tories are annoyed at her anti- business rhetoric. Of course they are all worried at the disaster that is the manifesto.

She has bungled nearly everything she has done since acquiring the prime ministership. Lessons should have been learned from her long unsuccessful term as Home Secretary.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 28-May-17 07:55:14

Interesting paper reviews last night and this morning on two different channels with for once (the reviewers are often right-wing biased, reviewing right-wing biased newspapers). There was intelligent comment about why people, presumably the Tories as they seem to be pushing this at the moment, should not be trying to use Corbyn's past contacts of 30 years ago in today's election.

Not that I think that will stop the Theresa May Party (which I predict will become the Conservatives again over the last weeks as they try to play her down) saying whatever they think will win the election - truth or lies, or as we have seen from May fake 'truth'.
