Which MPs would you really love to lose their seats? For me - Zac Goldsmith, Jeremy Hunt for starters.

Anniebach Wed 07-Jun-17 16:28:51

We need a save Jacob campaign

Rigby46 Wed 07-Jun-17 16:49:46

I expect he is unassailable

LadyGracie Wed 07-Jun-17 17:26:45

I really like Jacob, he seems honest and forthright (to me anyway). No Rigby definitely not a big cheese.

Rigby46 Wed 07-Jun-17 17:34:29

Yes what is it about Jacob ?

rosesarered Wed 07-Jun-17 19:16:31

Old fashioned courtesy and charm.

I can't believe so many Gransnetters are still being horrible about Diane Abbott. I know there have been at least two threads on here recently about her. She has now stepped back from the election campaign citing ill health surely people have to accept that she is ill?
She is a very gifted politician from a working class family who went to Cambridge at a time when there were hardly any black students there, let alone women black students. She became Britains 's first black woman MP back in the 1980s. An amazing feat.
She receives daily abuse on social media and in the press of the most horrible racist and misogynistic kind. She is still very hardworking and is well thought of in her constituency.
Please gransnetters, support rather than attack this brave woman who is probably a similar age to many gransnetters.
I am sure you don't mean any harm but it's beyond a joke now.

I entirely agree mostlyharmless. I've been trying to stand up for her since people began sagging her off.

mostlyharmless Wed 07-Jun-17 19:52:18

Thank you jane10 -at least I haven't offended everyone on gransnet!

PamelaJ1 Wed 07-Jun-17 19:53:35

I? J R-M. Is Nicolas Soames still an MP?

NotTooOld Wed 07-Jun-17 20:31:20

May, Rudd, Thornberry, Abbott...oh, dear, all women...I'll add Fabricant then. Definitely not Rees-Mogg - and Boris can stay, too.

NotTooOld Wed 07-Jun-17 20:32:36

PS I think it's time for Ken Clarke to retire.

LadyGracie Wed 07-Jun-17 20:34:36

He's a gentleman?

GracesGranMK2 Wed 07-Jun-17 20:40:29

You certainly haven't offended me mostlyharmless, well said.

Anniebach Wed 07-Jun-17 20:52:29

I like Ken Clarke, pleased he changed his mind about retiring

Deedaa Wed 07-Jun-17 21:41:05

Jeremy Hunt! Gove, Rees Mogg and Boris. Actually it would be quite funny {if unlikely} if Theresa lost her seat!

Andyf Wed 07-Jun-17 21:49:43

Dennis Skinner, but it's not going to happen.

And another thread about her from a month ago! rigby46

The right wing press don't spare her feelings at all and their comments threads are really shocking. She's been through a lot - has had a bad few weeks. I hope she is given privacy so she can recover. It must be awful to be hounded by the media like that.

Anniebach Wed 07-Jun-17 22:41:24

With hindsight ?

Rigby46 Wed 07-Jun-17 22:45:53

It's nothing to do with hindsight.

Rigby46 Wed 07-Jun-17 22:52:23

mostly and the same poster started both threads. Makes you think...

mostlyharmless Wed 07-Jun-17 23:20:26

Not hindsight ab as I defended DA on both threads some time ago.
True rigby46.

Skweek1 Thu 08-Jun-17 10:03:07

Damian Green - as Sec of State for W&P he should discover what it's like to be out of work and how hard it is for some people to live on their pensions!

sue01 Thu 08-Jun-17 10:04:44

Clegg. Thornberry. McDonnell. In that order !

JaneD3 Thu 08-Jun-17 10:10:00

Corbyn, Corbyn and Corbyn! Liz Kendal for leader of Labour?
