She can't possibly stay - she's fatally wounded. Boris, Hammond and DD must be plotting as I post. Rudd a no-no, too close to her.

Hell hath no fury like a minister scorned

Queen of denial - George Osborne's Evening Standard headline

Think of the chaos ( where have I heard that word before) of an election once negotiations have started. That's why she should have gone this weekend but no #partybeforecountry

paddyann Fri 09-Jun-17 13:57:46

wont matter who they have there will be another election very soon...want to take bets whether late this year or early next?

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 10:46:00

It would have to be a dual leadership like the Greens. Dacre and Murdoch. Cor they must be sick

Jalima1108 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:40:43

So the Tories have another leadership election, and lumber us with yet another unelected leader. So how does that work?
another election in the autumn, as someone posted on another thread, at great cost and just to upset Brenda of Bristol even more.
[sigh]

Tegan grin except it is horribly near the truth.

Tegan2 Fri 09-Jun-17 10:30:02

Of course, Rupert Murdoch could just openly stand as leader so people could actually see who really is controlling the party....

The Tories need to have lessons in less arrogance and more humility. Humility doesn't come naturally to them

GracesGranMK2 Fri 09-Jun-17 09:02:52

I think their only hope is someone much younger and less part of the old guard - with at least a little less arrogance.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 09:00:22

Of course they did!!!! The direction of travel has been changed by Corbyns achievement. Labour is a government in waiting. Mays coalition of chaos won't be able to govern sensibly, there will be yet another election and then Labour will be given the opportunity to save this beleaguered country.

kittylester Fri 09-Jun-17 08:57:15

You are joking of course ww! Our bit of the world is in turmoil or hadn't you spotted that. Labour didn't win although you'd think they had.

trisher Fri 09-Jun-17 08:56:26

5 recounts for Rudd to get in!!!! Boris and Davis are plotting in the background. Jacob will keep quiet he is the unacceptable face of Conservatism (although he is charismatic). Whoever picked May in the first place (behind closed doors) will be picking her successor.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 08:42:55

kitty but it is spinnng a bit more gaily this morning

Anya Fri 09-Jun-17 08:41:02

The Chairman of the 1922 committee would normally talk to a PM about their position if they think it untenable.

Alima Fri 09-Jun-17 08:25:48

Jacob!

kittylester Fri 09-Jun-17 08:23:41

The world is still spinning, I'm still collecting my kitten and Jersey Royals will still be disappointing.

It's a good job those things are still the same because, as far as the country is concerned, we are in for a very bumpy ride.

For my part, not Johnson, Gove or Hammond. But I'll have to see who is left to choose between!

daphnedill Fri 09-Jun-17 08:09:48

May said that she wouldn't call an election. I can't imagine anybody would want to go into coalition with the Tories, except the DUP.

PamelaJ1 Fri 09-Jun-17 08:03:18

Downing St. Says she is staying, John Redwood says they won't have to do a deal with any other party.
Shame we can't have a sensible coalition.

nightowl Fri 09-Jun-17 07:56:11

Tegan, I agree about Ken Clarke. I believe he is also a very nice man wink

He offered my friend (a Labour Party member) a lift when she was standing at the bus stop in the pouring rain grin. She won't hear a bad word against him!

Anya Fri 09-Jun-17 07:52:29

Lots of Tory MPs running around 'with political scalpels' comment on TV this morning.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 07:33:25

Oh yes "coalition of chaos" remember thst catchy little phrase

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 07:30:00

Tories trying to spin it, and Redwood that arch Brexiter saying it isnt about Brexit. Idiot

Rigby46 Fri 09-Jun-17 07:27:19

Remember all those posts about kittens and potatoes? The world still spinning? Well not so funny now is it?
