Now this really be worth doing!!

Let's start with the QS.

What will be left out/watered down! Not sure how they will explain it away as it's in the manifesto. Probably say something like "Brexit and all it's complications will mean that stuff will have to be shelved"

Fox hunting - out
Triple lock - remains
Social care - out

I can't see the graph what does it show?

GillT57 Sun 16-Jul-17 20:44:39

Yes jen with a stake through his heart! I heard a rather scary report on Radio 4 about Cambridge Analytics and dark money. People such as Steve Bannon and Aaron Banks. It is like the plot of a John le Carre novel but more frightening

durhamjen Sun 16-Jul-17 20:48:59

Whitewave, click on the graph and it will enlarge.

whitewave Sun 16-Jul-17 20:50:14

I did but it won't work on my ipad

durhamjen Sun 16-Jul-17 20:50:20

If it doesn't enlarge, it stays looking like a rat-tailed maggot!

whitewave Sun 16-Jul-17 20:51:20

Yuk!!!!

Ana Sun 16-Jul-17 20:53:53

Can't see the point of that graph. Obviously no one was bothered about staying in the EU until the referendum...hmm

durhamjen Sun 16-Jul-17 20:56:27

Up until the end of 2015 fewer than 10% thought that the EU was a problem.
After that it shot up to over 50%.
That's the point of the graph. If Cameron hadn't called the referendum we would have stuck with all our other problems, instead of the EU.

Ana Sun 16-Jul-17 20:59:22

The graph heading didn't say Britons considered the EU to be 'a problem'. Just that it was an issue facing the country, which of course it was at the time.

durhamjen Sun 16-Jul-17 20:59:40

Did you see the Hammond interview when he said that public sector workers are paid well enough, if not overpaid compared to private sector workers?
This is the hospital worker's response to his crass remarks.

Another one who needs a stake through the heart.

durhamjen Sun 16-Jul-17 21:03:48

The graph said Britons saying the EU is one of the most important issues, not just an issue.
It was by ipsos/mori.
Are you going to argue about the dates and the figures as well, Ana?
Obviously not important, either, to some.

whitewave Sun 16-Jul-17 21:03:53

I saw it on the news, I've been doing stuff all day so until this evening haven't really looked at anything. Hopefully catch up sometime. Yes I did see Hammond. Does he think we are idiots? 10bn for bribery, 2bn for something else, nothing for the countries workers.

Jalima1108 Sun 16-Jul-17 21:04:27

whitewave The Liberals, Lib Dems always used to be a very close second in Totnes area; if there was a resurgence they could be a threat to a Tory.

MaizieD Sun 16-Jul-17 21:04:57

'issue' is generally held to be synonymous with 'problem' these days, Ana

durhamjen Sun 16-Jul-17 21:05:16

Rat-tailed maggots look like that because they need breathing tubes when in water!

whitewave Sun 16-Jul-17 21:05:33

Oh I didn't know that!! I used to live very close by in a village called South Brent

petra Sun 16-Jul-17 21:16:11

Spoken like a true pacifist. Your always telling (or shouting) how you abhor violence. Or did you forget and the facade slip.

durhamjen Sun 16-Jul-17 21:36:19

It's not real, petra. It's fantasy, like Dracula. Never mind.

This is real, though.

Jalima1108 Sun 16-Jul-17 22:08:12

I bought a car from the garage there once - years ago. A Ford Cortina.

Jalima1108 Sun 16-Jul-17 22:08:52

I mean South Brent not Totnes!

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 07:11:38

I think the garage is gone now and there are houses there. Chap called Soper used to run it. How things change!!

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 07:26:40

Unless you mean the one out on the main road which my aunts friends used to run -they had a house in Thurlstone facing the sea just down from the top car park, we used to spend lovely days down there.

Did you know Bantham has been sold? Last I heard they were going to develop it. How can anyone develop paradise? It would be outrageous.

GracesGranMK2 Mon 17-Jul-17 08:22:07

Grayling on Today, when asked should we be spending on HS2 when people haven't had pay rises pointed out that this was capital spending. Err, excuse me, not a word from the interviewer to ask why this didn't apply to the LP manifesto where capital spending and operating costs were clearly separated but the Tories didn't worry about that and were allowed to attacked in just the way the interviewer did but time after time. The interviewer was a wimp though and gave up just one answer - this is capital spending - that was it!!! Grrr.

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 08:28:55

Open war in the cabinet with everyone briefing against everyone else. How on earth can it continue to function? It is rudderless, divided and that at the most important period in the UK. It is a national scandal.

Interviewers are very poor quality these days I fancy.

Andrew Neil sat back whilst Farage talked similarly to the Powel speech of "rivers of blood" over Brexit - it was disgraceful

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 08:36:50

Chris Patton

" I think it is the worse time since Suez, though maybe even worse than that ..........The European Union w as the replacement for our colonial role and thanks to two calamitous conservative prime ministers in a row, who thought they could manage the unmanageable - the English nationalist right wing of the Conservative party --- we are in a hell of a mess.
