Now this really be worth doing!!

Let's start with the QS.

What will be left out/watered down! Not sure how they will explain it away as it's in the manifesto. Probably say something like "Brexit and all it's complications will mean that stuff will have to be shelved"

Fox hunting - out
Triple lock - remains
Social care - out

How did we miss this in the midst of all this government watching?

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 14:19:59

They can't continue doing such evil things. People really are beginning to understand what this government is about and turning away.

GillT57 Mon 17-Jul-17 17:52:07

the problem is WW people are still voting for it, still believe in austerity ( as long as it doesn't hit them of course), still think that 'nice Mrs May' will sort it out, still think that Boris is a lovable chap....

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 18:15:35

Blimey then they must be like the monkeys!!! How can you miss what is going on

GillT57 Mon 17-Jul-17 18:19:23

Just put your hands over your ears and sing 'la-la-la' ww. It seems to work for many. I must not be rude though, got told off yesterday grin

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 18:21:14

How naughtygrin

GillT57 Mon 17-Jul-17 18:27:30

There was a certain amount of hypocrisy in the telling off though WW as the person doing the telling off used a far worse word than I had! Hey ho. grin

whitewave Mon 17-Jul-17 18:28:16

It is ever thus.

skwawkbox.org/2017/07/16/chris-williamson-mps-latest-video-a-tribute-to-mays-year-in-office/

Chris Williamson makes some very good videos since he was voted back in.
The government will not like this one.

Tegan2 Mon 17-Jul-17 18:35:24

He got his grounding in our village panto's jen; wonder if there's any 'behind you's' and 'boo's' in the video grin....

durhamjen Mon 17-Jul-17 18:37:24

No, but I would have booed a lot if there had been anyone to listen.

May's first year in office. The Brexit stuff is worrying.

varian Mon 17-Jul-17 18:41:05

Would anyone like to join me in emailing the BBC and asking them to stop talking about "when brexit happens" and start saying "if brexit happens"?

durhamjen Mon 17-Jul-17 18:41:17

G4S being granted another contract for tagging, despite being investigated, charged and fined by the fraud office.

whitewave Tue 18-Jul-17 10:02:47

Well I wonder how long the little pep talk by the failing PM about keeping Schtum will last?

I give it 5 minutesgrin

Open war in the government with no one agreeing about anything and all hating each other.

Just when the UK races two enormous challenges -Brexit and continues austerity.

Who can we rely on? Well certainly not this rabble.

whitewave Tue 18-Jul-17 10:06:06

Greening got herself in a muddle over the schools funding and the latest sticking plaster. She appeared unable to be able to do her maths over the odd billion or two.
Even the Tory backbenchers looked embarrassed.

This is Government by reaction to the next crises. No leadership just trying to keep up with the latest mess.

whitewave Tue 18-Jul-17 10:32:07

For the first time in 100 years the UKs life expectancy has stalled.

The person compiling the report said that the UKs miserly approach to welfare spending is directly responsible.

We are the second richest nation in Europe, but spend the least.

The richest in the U.K. Live on average 15 years longer than the poorest, and this comes of course with all the misery and ill health associated with poverty.

This slow down in the increase in life expectancy has only happened in the UK and started in 2010.

Give you 1 guess who forced the poor into greater poverty.

Primrose65 Tue 18-Jul-17 10:34:41

ww can you reference the report? Looks interesting.

annodomini Tue 18-Jul-17 10:45:13

Given that Justine Greening qualified as an accountant before entering politics, it doesn't give me much confidence in the accountancy profession! (Sorry, treading on toes?). I would recommend a grounding in local politics for prospective MPs. I hadn't a clue about budgeting when I joined the local council. After 8 years, when I retired, at least I understood that robbing Peter to pay Paul would be very easily seen through by the opposition and would come back to bite me in the not so very long run.

AlieOxon Tue 18-Jul-17 10:48:15

And how on earth did our NHS get declared the best in the world??? - and who by?

Primrose65 Tue 18-Jul-17 11:12:24

Is that the Marmot report that's out today ww? It blames dementia and lifestyle diseases.
I can't find anything else .....

Ana Tue 18-Jul-17 11:22:36

I read that as well Primrose.

I can't find where it says

The person compiling the report said that the UKs miserly approach to welfare spending is directly responsible.

Welshwife Tue 18-Jul-17 11:58:42

I heard someone who had a hand in the report mentioning austerity as being part of the reason - I think this was very early news about 5-

whitewave Tue 18-Jul-17 12:00:18

Linked of course to the report above.

Britain has the worse cancer outcomes in Europe.

Ana Tue 18-Jul-17 12:07:41

It may be part of the reason, Weshwife, but not directly responsible.

That's a misleading statement.
