GGMK2 I never asked you to accept my point of view.

But when points of view are not accepted GP - even though they may have no basis in fact - you call it bullying. That is, by default not asking but insisting the unproved points of view are accepted.

I have now explained my views on your unwarranted comment about 'bullying' several times. You are not suggesting my views are not true or offering any evidence that what you call bullying. There seems no point in carrying on with this conversation. You are not offering the only argument that would prove this so called bullying exists - that is an example. Otherwise you are doing exactly as I said, and you are actually objecting to robust debate on the basis of fact which is what will always happen on politics threads - that is what discussing politics is about.

You, however, appear yet again to think you can throw in an accusation of bullying with no proof whatsoever and then just try and ride this thread in an attempt to take it off course. What is the point of such posts on a "Thank you for the politics thread". I for one am grateful for them and all I have learned from them and I am certainly not grateful for those who try to derail threads as you have been doing.

Your argument that inferred M0nica or anyone else has been bullied so far has about the same weight as pictures of kittens which is what I imagine you will resort to next.

Of course you can do all those things but if you state your view without any evidence or with misinformation people will disagree with you. You seem to see that as bullying - without adding anything that enables us to judge what you say just wafting an accusation in the air. I, for one, don't know you from Adam so why should I just accept your opinion? You are talking about posting on politics threads not a cup of tea with the vicar.

What hole Rigby ? as for my posts shout anyone down, really ? i can state my point then read posts left by others and accept them, i can accept other people have different points of view to try and dont feel they need to try and bring them round to my point.

varian, Alistair Carmichael was found guilty of lying about not knowing where the leak had come from, and of misrepresenting himself as an honest person, since he was the one who had authorised the leak.

I actually think grannypiper that some of your posts exhibit exactly the characteristics you claim to find so unacceptable in others. As I said above, you misrepresented one of my posts so that you could unwarrentedly criticise me. You complain, criticise and misrepresent and then when challenged to provide evidence you just go back to complaining, criticising, misrepresenting.. even MOnica denied she had been bullied off the thread.

Grannypiper, did you or did you not say "please don't let the bullies win". You have attacked some amorphous person/people but have not been prepared to back your attack with facts.

Perhaps you feel I should just have agreed with you; that you are entitled to have such statements respected and agreed with but you are not - back it with facts and I will agree. Show me where people are 'shouted down' and I will report it.

GGMK2 I didnt attack anyone i pointed out that certain members can't cope if someone has a opposing view to theirs(like 2 year olds). The way certain members shout down others for daring to differ is a form of bullying.

I think the political threads on Gransnet are very informative. They summarise many viewpoints and are often well researched with links you might not have been aware of. Although there are spats on the threads they never become really abusive unlike some on twitter or Facebook.
It's a great way of keeping abreast of the latest news too. The posts make you think, so I do contribute sometimes.

The actual words quoted may not have been word for word what she said but the meaning was clear, reflecting the deviousness of NS. Her separatist agenda was greatly assisted by having Tories in government.

Alastair Carmichael was vindicated by the Scottish court and returned at the last election with an increased majority in spite of vicious targetting by the nationalists. His own constituents who know him best have shown that they believe in him. It is time the SNP stopped making false accusations and put their own house in order.

JRF is a charity and non-political.

Well as the evil bullying person who wrote the OP may I say I was astonished at MOnica's reaction - my OP was factual - about the utter mess the Government is in at the commencement of the Brexit negotiations - not a tirade at all. But then, it seems like another deliberate misreading/interpretation of one of my posts. Getting to be a bit of habit on here isn't it? Some might even call it a form of bullying.

I had never heard of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation until they very kindly paid the court fees of Carmichael the MP who was accused of lying ...not just lying actually making up a story and then saying it had been leaked about our FM and the french diplommat she hhad a conversation with.Mr Carmichael was found guilty of the lies but the judge in all his wisdom pronounced that he hadn't broken the law BUT he would have to pay his own costs .Good old JRF paid them for him.So not sure what I would believe if they were the source given they seem happy to fund proven liars

But when I opened it I discovered is just another anti-Tory tirade (it would have made no difference if it had been anti-Labour) and that the last thing it is likely to be is a sensible and reasoned discussion about the negotiations for Brexit

Sorry, but this does not make sense to me. It wasn't a thread if there was only the OP on it. If it was the OP and the second one, which was mine, all I said was May being replaced by Hammond, so how was that an anti-tory tirade?

Please can you explain a bit more, as I really am confused.
