Corbyn has made it quite clear, what he and his close followers feel about our Queen and Armed Forces, do can those that support him eventually want a country with a President and no Armed Forces? This is how it looks. Why hadn't he the guts to just come out with it?

norose: "It would be a very rare thing indeed if we were ever given the true facts by any party or government about anything in fact it would be impossible, that is why we get so passionate about various issues etc, almost to the point where we just give & say what ever sad but true in my honest un bossy opinion ?"

No-one in power is going to give you facts that don't back up their opinion. This is where depending on printed media is so dangerous, they are all right wing or at the best centrist. You have to go on-line to find a load of reputable news-sites that will give you a different view to balance. I regularly check up on the Canary and Huffpost among others. And I watch Channel 4 News as well as the BBC and even Al-Jazeera.
"Trust No One" :-)

opinion

Anya Mon 26-Jun-17 09:37:11

Discussions need to be backed up by fact and not opinin masquerading as fact.

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 09:36:17

Of course he isn't openly promoting it , but it would become that because of human nature & everyone's passion . it is a dangerous route to even hint at, it just invites anarchy at a time when we should all be trying to pull together

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 09:32:15

Well yes that has to be true , So I guess we had all better come of gransnet & every other social discussion net, not a bad idea in my(bossy?) opinion. Discussion are rather more understood when we can see & read people's body language . So time for computers to go back in the box perhaps?

MaizieD Mon 26-Jun-17 09:30:31

^ I think that that is what he would like this country to become like^

But as he isn't promising violent revolution in the Labour manifesto we can assume that it would happen as do most constitutional changes* in the UK; incrementally over time with the consent of the electorate expressed through their MPS

(*apart from stupid Brexit, of course)

MaizieD Mon 26-Jun-17 09:25:59

Sorry I must have strayed onto Childsnet

I think you've strayed into bossy people feel the need to tell other people what to do net

Always surprised at the way people feel free to criticise other people's behaviour in a way that that they surely wouldn't do face to face.

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 09:22:13

Yes Luckylegs I think that that is what he would like this country to become like ,it would be more honest if he were to come out and say that's what he stands for, but he won't do that because he knows he would loose followers, other parties may be stupid at times but he is deceitful

Anya Mon 26-Jun-17 09:17:01

That makes a third and a fourth grin

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 09:15:45

Sorry I must have strayed onto Childsnet

Ps manifesto equals disappointment when It cannot be achieved

Anya Mon 26-Jun-17 09:13:10

I'll bloody swear if I want to. You're not the forum police.

Of course things have to be paid for. That's a second very stupid post.

whitewave Mon 26-Jun-17 09:12:30

As I keep reiterating, so many people are getting their "information" from the press, Barons like Dacre and Murdoch know this, and have formed public opinion too long in this country.

That is why we are in such a state.

Times are changing though, and I am optimistic for a better future.

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 09:10:54

Thanks for post Anya everything has to be paid for one way or another, we all choose the way we think is best as is ,our porogative, no need to swear though ☹️

Anya Mon 26-Jun-17 09:06:57

So you obviously haven't read Corbyn's manifesto then norose or you wouldn't gave written such an ill-informed post. It makes me wonder about the wisdom of universal suffrage when I see this kind of regurgitated rubbish such as 'uncosted goodies'.

Certainly it was costed. And 'goodies' - presumably as in good education, good health and social care, good security and police?? Do you really think if these as 'goodies' rather than the sign of a first world society with one of the largest economies in the world.

What a bloody stupid post.

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 09:06:32

Yes perhaps another word would have been better?Whitewave , I just get a bit frustrated when people become so Dogged Is that an ok thing to say ??lol

whitewave Mon 26-Jun-17 09:01:05

Glad you aren't glued to one party norose grin

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 08:59:44

sorry forgot to add & disrespect for our armed forces, whilst toadying up at Glastonbury ?

norose4 Mon 26-Jun-17 08:55:10

I am not politically glued to one party, I try to work out what I agree with at any given time. I am a people watcher &every interested in psychology& how it is used as tool in all campaigns be it political or other. The media also try's to manipulate us this way. The study of megalomania is very interesting I cite Billy Graham as one example , how the young loved & worshipped him back in the day.... & were sadly disappointed when his true self was exposed ,.... a lot of the tories are painfully see through because they are being what they are ,wither you agree with them or not,I would rather that ,than the hero worship of brother Corbyn who practices to deceive with a bagful of uncosted goodies.

Anniebach Mon 26-Jun-17 08:36:28

Mauzie, I did say that, there would be no crown, no living in Windsor, KP, Buck house, no millions of pounds from the country, the would have to live off their own money,

And please do not refer to me as SHE please

Iam64 Mon 26-Jun-17 07:09:43

I didn't know that Armed Forces Day is such a recent invention. I support all our public services, including the armed forces. I'm surprised midsummer day was chosen for such a display. It's a day of misrule and many pagan festivals. Conway had a large number of people dressed as Dragons, Fairy kings and queens, street stalls selling all kinds of new age or mediaeval trinkets and potions. Glastonbury takes place on that weekend, Pagans gather at various sites. Very odd to choose this particular weekend for such a different kind of commemoration.

We need to stop disbanding and reducing our Army, Navy and Air Force. It goes without saying the same argument applies to our other public services, as recent events have highlighted.

I have mixed feelings about Trident, understand the arguments of both sides and if I had to make a choice, I'd increase the services rather than replace Trident.

Is it possible to discuss important issues without resorting to name calling and personal attacks.

whitewave Mon 26-Jun-17 07:04:21

That is why people appreciate Corbyn when he is allowed to speak to them directly. They get the sincerity snd honesty.

Filter anyone through the press like the DM and they become some sort of twisted version of reality. It is quite extraordinary how people like the DM journalist who appeared on QT and to my mind sèemed drunk could be so nasty and vindictive and yet people are wlling to accept what he says!!

I applaud Corbyn for being able to communicate with the young, talking about building bridges not walls, caring for each other, rejecting violence and embracing peace?

What better way to salute those who protect us than by trying to build a better world of peace and harmony so their lives are better protected too.

Spokespersons for the gutter press are finding a smaller and smaller platform on which to preach. No one that matters is listening, the future has its eyes and ears elsewhere.

Anya Mon 26-Jun-17 06:27:29

I didn't know that suzied - puts a very different light on some of the posts on here then.
