He's playing lots of golf at the moment, while tweeting to tell people he is still working.
Lots of people wish he would play more golf and give up the tweeting!

Well whilst he has been trying to hit a white ball into a wee hole, he has found time to give N Korea an ultimatum and threaten them with full force and Fire!

Coolgran65 Tue 08-Aug-17 23:55:35

Miep1 - I am sure you were speaking....tongue in cheek.

But consider - incitement etc

durhamjen Wed 09-Aug-17 00:42:18

Fire and fury like the world has never seen before.

Well, I suppose someone else took the phrase 'shock and awe'.

AlieOxon Wed 09-Aug-17 08:36:20

So - I turned the TV on and on the two main news channels are - sport....and some stupid ad singing 'good morning'.
I turned it off again.

BBC on PC says threat to Guam, from North Korea.

They just need to ask Corbyn to pop over to Korea and talk to them , sorted

maryeliza54 Wed 09-Aug-17 09:17:40

If I stop and think about this, I feel incredibly apprehensive. I'm just telling myself now that as I can't do anything about it, its best not to think about it. I'm not in the mood to joke about it though.

Smileless2012 Wed 09-Aug-17 09:36:16

It's quite frightening I agree maryeliza. I can't help but wonder when the posturing's going to end and the real trouble begin.

maryeliza54 Wed 09-Aug-17 09:42:36

Many on here will remember Suez and Bay of Pigs but it's the added factor of Trump that is truly frightening.

AlieOxon Wed 09-Aug-17 10:17:20

This is scary - and it's still not heading the BBC news!

mcem Wed 09-Aug-17 10:22:01

Neatly summed up marye .

maryeliza54 Wed 09-Aug-17 10:22:08

Just looked at BBBC news online webpage and it's the lead story there at least - haven't heard any news since Today programme.

AlieOxon Wed 09-Aug-17 13:22:59

Leading and taking the first 10 minutes at 1pm.

durhamjen Wed 09-Aug-17 18:40:01

Do you think trump has realised that today's the anniversary of the day they dropped the bomb on Nagasaki?

AlieOxon Wed 09-Aug-17 19:13:42

So it is. - I don't think so - he wouldn't have resisted mentioning it, I think....

AlieOxon Wed 09-Aug-17 19:15:49

The US are playing it down now:

GracesGranMK2 Wed 09-Aug-17 20:03:51

I think, for good or bad, Trump's words were considered and he will have been made aware of the anniversary today. It does have a feeling of those frightening days maryeliza.

whitewave Wed 09-Aug-17 20:08:05

My Uncle was a prisoner of war just outside of Nagasaki. His experience convinced him to become a pacifist for the rest of his life.

www.stopwar.org.uk/index.php/resources/stop-the-war-statements/2688-stwc-statement-on-trump-north-korea-09-08-18

Stop the War Coalition is having a protest outside the US embassy in London on Friday. Providing trump waits that long, of course.

Some of you might remember that I predicted trouble between these two spoilt, over-indulged brats. Not happy to be proved correct. They have so much in common.

illtellhim Thu 10-Aug-17 07:54:56

It annoys me when I think that my future is "sorted" by things that most of us has got no say in.

The bright side is, that we all go together and what's left is not really, what I would call living.

Also, the death of a couple of million people is quite acceptable.

Not worth thinking about, come 11 o-clock I'll have my first drink of the day and life will seem so much better.wink

MawBroon Thu 10-Aug-17 08:03:09

Starting a bit early, Illtellhim?? wine

Since North Korea has a mad man at the helm, with or without Trump the situation is worrying. Some take the view that America doing and saying nothing much for so long is what has allowed North Korea to build up their nuclear programme.
China, at long last is backing the new sanctions.
Trump doesn't act alone, and has some good military advisors, so although his message may ( or may not) have been advisable, any action will be well considered.
I am not a fan of The Donald in any shape or form and was rooting for Clinton to win, but he has inherited this situation from years of a softly softly approach in regards to N Korea.

illtellhim Thu 10-Aug-17 08:39:05

Hi MawBroon, yes, but its worth noting that that I don't take any tablets. smile

Seoul the capital of South Korea, has 28 million people, North Korea has just as many guns pointing and in range of it, so , I've haven't really got a lot to worry about.
