I have had sympathy for these parents up till now, but I am rapidly losing it. They have a child who has no brain function and has been on life support for months. They have encouraged public sentiment to an exceptional extent, and got involved with an American doctor who just wanted a human laboratory subject.
GOSH has given all care, and has been forced to spend money on one court case after another.
They have now agreed that there is no hope for Charlie, but are still stringing it out wanting at least a week in the hospice before the life support is switched off.
How many children who could have benefitted have lost out because that life support system and support team were all given to Charlie?
Surely most parents would have accepted the fact the child couldn't live; grieved, and then gone on to have a healthy family.
