When you've seen it, Tegan, would you be able to tell us its salient points?

I have to confess that I don't want to watch it and the facts that it's an hour out of my life and that the first lot of comments I read said nothing more than the usual abuse of Remainers that I can see every day on twitter or in comments on articles. Plus some hysterical stuff about German plans for world domination and lots of approving comments from US Trump supporters... These put me right off...

Oh don't make those sort of assumptions lemon - I fully intend to watch it as soon as I have the time.

I will be interested in the leavers comments about it though, as this thread was set up just for that.

One Remainer, lemongrove. I speak only for myself; no-one else.

I have said that I'm putting off watching it because I know I'm going to be upset by the content. And the person who sent it to me is someone whose opinions on many things I find quite worrying [immigration for example]. Also, I'm assuming that there will be people in it [eg Gisela Stuart] who have since said it was a mistake to have a referendum and have left the mess to everyone else to sort out. I shall watch it in snatches and am looking forward to it in the way that I look forward to trips to the dentist. But shall be honest about it if I do find things I agree with [which I'm sure durhamjen would have done]. It may, however, take me some time as I'm going away soon and will not have full internet access.

The S.O. has just contacted me to tell me that he has just had a phone call from The Telegraph, which he used to buy mainly for the sport section. They asked why he had stopped his subscription and he told them it was due to their stance on Europe something that he believed was bad for the country and would take us back 50 years. They then said they would drop the monthly charge to £5, to which he replied 'you haven't been listening to me, have you'. They then offered him more things to tempt him back, to which he replied that even if it was free he wouldn't read it. He had already written to them to explain why he no longer wished to read their biased newspaper. Good for him; he won't come protesting with me but he does his bit!

A couple of things about that video. I think it really is a bit much to go back to the second world war.
However, more importantly, the EU did not destroy our fishing, as it says.

If there is one thing I know about living next door to Switzerland it is that they are an exceptionally organised nation and that money and yet more money and paying your debts is uppermost in their minds and that they are a succesful nation, bang full of sovereignty no matter what they are doing. It is ridiculous to compare the easy going, partially poorly educated population of the the UK, with the Swiss.

I also think that EU laws are a good thing.
Not quite sure what will happen when our toys are imported from everywhere over the world without EC regulations.
The stuff about trading standards is really quite demeaning to Europe, which includes the UK. Childish. I am surprised that Mark Littlewood and Janet whatever her name is want to be associated with it.

I'm not sure if I agree with Brexit or not, but I do think the British nation as a whole tends to be insular and doesn't take into account the varying views of other nations.

The British nation doesn't even take into account the views of people from other parts of Britain.

It has just been pointed out to me that this great repeal bill is frighteningly similar to the German Enabling Act of 1933; does anyone know anything about that?
