Anniebach if you were present at all the meetings between Jeremy Corbyn and his ex-wives I will totally believe you. However I doubt the you were and I can tell you that the reasons often publicised after a marriage breakdown are seldom the real or only reason. So why not just stick to discussing the subject for a change. Oh sorry you might have to admit that there is honour in the present Labour Party mightn't you?
Emily Thornberry's attitude to white van man was totally different, as she actually went out of her way to be as sneering, rude and dismissive as she possibly could be towards somebody going about their lawful business. She exposed her snobbish patronising attitude while purporting to have socialist values! A truly awful ambitious vain woman who isn't even remotely comparable to Sarah Champion.
If we're talking about prejudice, may I refer you to the thread "Interview with the Mogg". There are some pretty prejudiced posts on their, including calling into question whether the number of children he has is immoral or not. It does sometimes seem that criticism of any Conservative party MP is fair game, whilst criticism of Labour party MPS is "prejudice ". Just an observation.
Having to resign your position over what would appear to be a slip of the tongue by one word for which, as I understand, she was more than prepared to apologise does seem on the face of it, excessive, but there we go votes are everything and must not be jeopardized under any circumstances!
She resigned -if so it was an honourable thing to do and she fully accepted responsibility for not overseeing things -it's what always happened when ministers screwed up. If it is being brought back into the Labour Party then that is great. Too many people just ride out their mistakes thinking that today's paper wraps tomorrows fish and chips so it doesn't matter (TM for example) It is interesting that Emily Thornberry was berated by so many people for a tweet about white vans and the flag of St George, possibly the same people who are now defending Sarah Champion for a newspaper article in a paper known for its racist attitudes.
Read the OP gg - this is a speculative thread - "Did she jump or was she pushed? " No one is posting as if they've had a chat with Sarah and they know exactly what happened, people are just posting their opinion, exactly the same as you!
Thank you niggly, honesty is called hatred if it relates to Corbyn , so strange that my views on Cameron were critical and GG never referred to those views as hatred.
AB hijacks every thread she can to put forward her hatred of Corybn.
Many forums ban this sort of posting. Threads go off topic and everyone accepts that but this is deliberate and constant - it is thread hijacking in every sense of the expression.
Anne Cryer, another excellent person that went the same way - coincidence?!! annie sees JC for what he is as I did D.C, and G.O regrettably, no crime in that just plain old fashioned honesty!
Well said GracesGran. I'm not sure what Jeremy Corbyn's divorce has to do with this subject either, or with anyone else at all for that matter. Divorce is a sad and entirely personal matter and the reasons for relationship breakdown are known only to the two parties involved. I prefer it to stay that way.
A quiet word with this excellent woman and a public apology from her for omitting the word 'some' is all that was needed in this case, but as has been said Mr Corbyn cannot risk alienating his core supporters, so she had to go. Its a shame that this man has turned out to be as hypocritical, devious and self serving as any other politician you can name, but, however, not surprising!
Sarah Champion was pushed out. The Labour Party are more interested in keeping the Muslim vote than in protecting vulnerable children. It was called "silence for votes" at the time of the Rotherham scandal. Unless we acknowledge who the perpetrators are then we cannot determine the best way to stop this abuse happening. David Blunkett (former Sheffield MP) & Denis McShane (former Rotherham MP) have both spoken out this week in favour of Sarah Champion and both have said that there is a problem within the Pakistani Muslim community that needs to be addressed. Sarah Champion has received abuse from Labour activists but sweeping an inconvenient truth under the carpet does not stop it going away - it just allows the EDL types to lead on the debate. Over the next few years there will be even more of these prosecutions.
No, you don't know she was pushed. That's just prejudice showing, not the truth. The truth I believe is obviously different from the truth you believe.
Of course she was pushed! What a disgrace to blame her and make sure she had to resign, when she was doing her best to bring this awful matter into the limelight, just so as not to 'offend' any sensibilities, but we all know the truth, and Corbyn uses weasel words.
Or GN had the chance to open up the debate but he chose to say all abuse is wrong, we KNOW that , getting the keys to No 10 is all he is concerned about , the MP admired for speaking out ?
