EXCLUSIVE: New CCTV footage reveals Jeremy Corbyn told truth about 'Traingate'

I think someone owes Corbyn an apology. It won't happen of course but at least this may balance the story the owners of the news wanted us to hear.

lemongrove Sun 27-Aug-17 16:46:16

Driving it or firing it up Jalima?

Anniebach Sun 27-Aug-17 16:48:13

I wouldn't get excited about this fantastic rail system we are to get when Comrade C is in power. There was excitement on student debts , abolishing the benefits freeze ,

durhamjen Sun 27-Aug-17 16:49:24

Have you been on the North York Moors, Jalima, or the Settle to Carlisle?
Last time we went on the North York Moors up to Whitby we were behind the Sir Nigel Gresley. Then, on our way back, they stopped the train at Grosmont so they could change engines and put the Nigel Gresley on the front again.
It's now in bits at NRM in York.

trisher Sun 27-Aug-17 16:50:02

dj it's you, me and possibly GGMk2 of course. I wouldn't worry it's just the opinion of that Conservative Annie the Hun

Chewbacca Sun 27-Aug-17 16:50:59

The stations that are having their platforms extended, to enable longer trains to stop there are: Chertsey; Waterloo; Manchester Piccadilly; Stevenage; Edinburgh Waverley; Northallerton; Luton Airport Station and Lincoln is in the pipeline. Some of these stations are owned by Virgin and so they are ploughing money back into the infrastructure. It will take time for the platforms to be extended but, once completed, longer trains, with more carriages, will be able to stop at these stations. and Corbyn will have to think of something else

lemongrove Sun 27-Aug-17 16:54:42

Oh yes trisher young people are overflowing with the milk of human kindness and worry constantly over the fate of people on trains etc.?? who have no seat.
Older people never care about anything, and only a very few (like trisher) are caring. Now, really, when all else fails,
On a forum, resort to sobs/family anecdotes of a tragic kind/ say you are feeling the pain of others.
The rest of us will stay on the train and read the paper.

MaizieD Sun 27-Aug-17 17:03:31

None of these stations are owned by Virgin and it is Network Rail who is doing the lengthening work

And ignore the people sitting on the floor lemongrove they should have booked a seat, and that nice Mr Branson needs to buy a new island.

Chewbacca Sun 27-Aug-17 17:11:24

Oops sorry Maizie, I took durham's post at 16.42 to be correct and so reposted it Durham Station is owned by Virgin!

Should have known better, my apologies!

Anniebach Sun 27-Aug-17 17:12:16

Could someone please explain to DJ , it is possible to be 100% against communism but be a socialist.

Perhaps explain the Labour Party which is a socialist party was founded in 1900, the communist party was founded 1920, why found the second if the former shared the beliefs

Primrose65 Sun 27-Aug-17 17:13:53

Why does everyone attack Branson? Virgin only owns 10% of Virgin Trains East Coast. And it runs at a loss.

Chewbacca Sun 27-Aug-17 17:15:43

Because he's successful Primrose and socialists don't like success?

Baggs Sun 27-Aug-17 17:16:47

I wonder if the phrase "democratic socialist" would be preferable, annie? I think that would describe the Labour Party as I knew it.

Baggs Sun 27-Aug-17 17:20:12

But actually, annie, I think some people are only comfortable when they can call others names. You, for instance, a Conservative. That level of ridiculousness means they've run out of arguments.

Anniebach Sun 27-Aug-17 17:20:12

This socialist has no problem with a person making a success of their business , if they pay their employees a decent wage and ensure good working conditions

Baggs Sun 27-Aug-17 17:21:17

Did the Huns get to Wales? Baggs buggers off to check....

Anniebach Sun 27-Aug-17 17:22:07

So true Baggs, very playground ,

Ana Sun 27-Aug-17 18:15:38

You wouldn't have thought durhamjen would make a mistake like that though, would you?

devongirl Sun 27-Aug-17 18:18:45

Don't know who owns Durham station but it's managed by Virgin, maybe that's what dj meant

petra Sun 27-Aug-17 18:22:37

Why does everyone attack Branson.
Cos ees got lodsa lodsa money.

Chewbacca Sun 27-Aug-17 18:22:51

Not what she said though devon and Durhamjen is always so precise so I'm a bit confused

petra Sun 27-Aug-17 18:24:40

Ana
That was a rhetorical question, wasn't it?

Ana Sun 27-Aug-17 18:38:37

No, it wasn't petra - see Chewbacca's post.

trisher Sun 27-Aug-17 18:49:29

Branson is being attacked because he lied, because he lives in tax exile and because Virgin is registered in a tax haven- the British Virgin Islands
"Despite the company structure, which makes it unlikely to pay any tax in the UK in the foreseeable future, according to Murphy, Virgin Care recently won contracts worth £500m to provide 30 primary care services across England, including GP practices, GP out-of-hours services, walk-in centres, urgent care centres and minor injury units . Its website claims Virgin Care, which became part of the Virgin Group in 2010, runs 230 NHS and social care services while employing 5,500 people.

The company’s latest accounts referred to the health and social care bill – which has opened the NHS to more private providers – as an “opportunity”. Its highest-paid director earned a basic salary of £300,295 in 2013/14."
I don't mind people making money, I do mind people lying, making a profit out of our NHS, and not paying tax.

petra Sun 27-Aug-17 18:51:23

Most of durhamjens nasty, and childish posts to Anniebach come from a place of envy because of her connections with very prominent past and present Labour Party members/ leaders.
