I think the guy's coolness in the face of bad manners is part of the reason why.

durhamjen Sun 08-Oct-17 23:15:51

The problem is that she's not the only one who thinks like that, Maizie.

MaizieD Sun 08-Oct-17 23:13:04

Does that make him a good prospective PM?

If. like Day6, you're going for style over substance it really doesn't matter in the slightest what he says or thinks. All he needs is good manners...hmm

MaizieD Sun 08-Oct-17 23:08:00

^ It's the vileness that's at issue, wherever it's from.^

Exactly, Baggs

durhamjen Sun 08-Oct-17 23:04:48

Rees-Mogg doesn't want to allow abortion for those made pregnant through incest. Is that acceptable?
Does that make him a good prospective PM?

Anniebach Sun 08-Oct-17 22:54:41

Oops Pinochet, Corbyn was a supporter and friend to the IRA who were blowing up innocent people in England but the far left will not condemn this , so hypocritical .

I expect you would have found excuses for John Stonehouse

Anniebach Sun 08-Oct-17 22:49:41

So thatcher was friendly with pin

Baggs Sun 08-Oct-17 22:34:59

Is the interrogation over yet?

Baggs Sun 08-Oct-17 22:34:35

Nor the Pinochet thing.

Baggs Sun 08-Oct-17 22:34:16

Nope, not telling you that.

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:31:09

And pro-Pinochet?

Baggs Sun 08-Oct-17 22:30:54

I called one example that someone else pointed at a representation of vileness. I'll stand by that. My point was that it wasn't right-wing to say it was vile, just as it isn't left-wing to say vile things emanating from right-wingers are vile. It's the vileness that's at issue, wherever it's from.

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:30:15

Yes ab compared with those pro apartheid Tory vermin. Are you telling me Baggs that you didn't know that MT and the Tories were pro apartheid?

Baggs Sun 08-Oct-17 22:26:59

I found something about "Hang Mandela" posters from the 1980s. I didn't know of their existence until a few minutes ago. If I had I daresay I'd have said they were vile too. I was teaching my young kids about why there were sanctions against South African produce during the 1980s and what apartheit meant, so effectively that DD1 exclaimed at the top of her shocked voice in Tesco's once: "That man is buying South African apples! ?"

MaizieD Sun 08-Oct-17 22:24:33

How about gassing the chavs. Young tories, I believe...

But this is ridiculous. You cannot point to one example of bad behaviour and say that it is representative of a whole party. You can only start to draw that conclusion when the behaviour is common to many members.

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:22:56

And don't get me started on Pinochet and MT's support for that murderous dictator.

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:22:02

And you know after he was freed you couldn't find a Tory who didn't say ( not believe) he was wonderful.

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:19:09

Every Tory I ever met , led by MT, was pro apartheid

Anniebach Sun 08-Oct-17 22:19:06

And the momentum gang are only joking !

Baggs Sun 08-Oct-17 22:18:54

No, I don't remember ever hearing of those before, meliza. I'll see if I can find what you are referring to.

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:18:16

I was spat at in a market town in Surrey by Conservatives when collecting signatures to free Mandela

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:16:47

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jacob-rees-mogg-abortion-pills-abortion-rape-conservative-party-conference-tory-leadership-leader-a7976386.html

The difference was those Tories meant it literally

maryeliza54 Sun 08-Oct-17 22:13:52

You will of course Baggs remember the Hang Mandela badges sported by Young Conservatives at a party conference.

Baggs Sun 08-Oct-17 21:55:08

That "Hang the Tories" banner with the hanged dummies was vile. It's not right-wing to say that.

durhamjen Sun 08-Oct-17 21:17:33

Day6, I think you should read your post again.
It sounds very much like a right wing smear campaign.

MaizieD Sun 08-Oct-17 21:02:35

Just because you support Corbyn

I think you're confusing me with someone else, Day6.
