For what it's worth annie, I have never referred to any of my much loved dogs as a bitch. (horrid word) Our current little spaniel is our little girl or little maid. Just thought I'd mention it!

So it's OK to call a bitch a girl but not OK to call a girl a bitch. Who knew here were such pedants about language and isn't it strange what people find insulting?

Not strange, just different standards, could be upbringing , could be company we spend a lot of time in, I don't know why, but I accept not everyone has the same standards.

Bitch is the word for a female dog, and it couldn't be considered low standards to use it as such.

I think we all know that, dog owners are quite aware when buying a puppy if they are buying a bitch or a dog. When the dog becomes part of the family it is not referred to as bitch, who says good bitch, or I am taking my bitch for a walk. You obviously have nothing to do with dogs,

No Jen I will not praise Corbyn for anything he has done for the Labour Party because he has done b all, Momentum tells him what to do and what to say and no he did not do more than .kinnock, Kinnock had to take the party through the very wilderness years Corbyns cronies had put us in.

Going back to the term 'bitch' it is a word widely used amongst farmers and country people possibly because they have working dogs and like to know what they are getting. But I wonder about "bitching" it's widely used as a term for complaining or bad mouthing someone or something presumably those who don't like the word (and honestly it is just a word) wouldn't use the term so what do they say?

I have owned eight bitches and four dogs, every time I stated I want a bitch or a dog , once they come into the home they become good boy or good girl when training starts, not good dog , good bitch .

Exactly Day6 and Momentum are a very worrying lot.
They are not angry at anything, just determined and extremist and will do and say anything to get their hooks into the LP, oust any moderates and install Corbyn as PM.
Any moderate LP member or voter should be bothered by them.
Extremists of any kind are a potential problem.

I would think if any poster called another poster 'a bitch' 'you bitch' the post would be quite rightly deleted for being crass and using inappropriate language .

Some posters it appears cannot see the 'context' of when /where and to whom the word is used is known to be nothing short of crude , insulting terminology.

So you do say bitchy but not bitch how interesting. You see if someone is being bitchy I might then say 'You bitch" probably in a joking way, but you wouldn't. Takes all sorts doesn't it. Why would I call them any of those? there's no meaning to them at all Bitch has a number of meanings.

No, there is no other meaning,a bitch is the female of several species ,not human , animal. That's it. I am sure you like me are bored with this conversation, you use the term bitch, I do not, that's it.
