I see the EU Remainers' PROJECT FEAR is alive and well.

I look forward to us leaving the EU.

The scare-mongering Remainers write post after post predicting how awful it will be. (Yes, predicting...)

Anyone would think we were incapable of knowing right from wrong and desperately in need of Brussels to guide us, to make our laws, to impose trading tariffs, generally control us, tell us who we have to accept into the country and take BILLIONS from us for the privilege of that control.

Project Fear - we have recognised it.

We need to get on with leaving the EU, pronto, but Remainers delight in the delays, mostly caused by terrified EU officials worried about EU budgets and the UK forging ahead without it's stranglehold.

Optimism rules. Let's bin Project Fear. We see it for what it is.

So hopefully Brighton will join the above list. Anyone else live in a remain area?

I see Sturgeon is making waves.

I see that Mark Zukerberg has more faith in our country than the majority of posters here. He's opening his only office outside of the US in London
Not Paris/Berlin/Rome/Madrid, no London
I think we would all agree that he's a business man that knows how many beans make 5.
I'm sure that many of you will disagree with his choice. Perhaps you could send him a message to point out the error of his ways.

Will the Eire/NI be the final show down? When your tail is being fully wagged by the DUP - you must know you are in SERIOUS trouble (and let's hope not back to 'troubes') tragic.

London is a great city with a multi national workforce, I am sure Facebook/ google will be at home here especially as it is such a strong Remain area. My French neighbours love it.

whitewave Mon 04-Dec-17 14:12:19

Foster has just stated that the DUP will not accept any sort of regulatory divergence.

Who is going to win this fight? Any bets?

It will be the DUP and the loons against the rest of Parliament - there should really be no contest but because of complete lack of spine I am not convinced that the small rump or tail won’t win.

Mamie Mon 04-Dec-17 14:24:28

Quote from David Allen Green on Twitter.
The UK is going to end up going through all the incredible expense, trouble and years of Brexit to end up with regulatory alignment with the EU instead of non-divergence from the EU.

"Taking back control"

I don't think remainers delight in the ensuing delays,I think their concerns are about the rose tinted & unrealistic expectations of the leavers . The vote should have taken place ( if at all) once we knew substantially more details, instead of the lies & assumptions we were fed by both sides . we were in effect asked to play Russian roulette!

whitewave Mon 04-Dec-17 15:04:08

bridgeit precisely

paddyann Mon 04-Dec-17 15:13:52

Nicola Sturgeon better be making waves ...and bloody big waves at that !!62% of voters were remain and part of the reasosn we lost the Independence referendum was because we were told the only way we could stay IN the EU was as part of the UK.I've just read a whole screed of remarks from people who voted no simply for that reason adn who would now vote yes ,because they've finally seen through the lies ,the VOW ..and the fact that we're not treated even as second class citizens on the "Union" we're not considered at all

whitewave Mon 04-Dec-17 16:05:10

So no deal. It was all going so swimmingly until Arlene stepped in and phoned the Maybot.

Ireland was quite happy with the document

GillT57 Mon 04-Dec-17 16:07:04

Paddyann, yes agreed, Scotland was misled by Cameron and Osborne, but so was the rest of the country. For the record, I am delighted that Zuckerberg is basing his office here Petra, and I am happy when any company makes a decision that brings jobs to the UK, whether we are in or out of EU. I just popped back to see whether lemongrove or day6 had managed to come up with anything positive about us leaving? anything?.........

durhamjen Mon 04-Dec-17 18:54:31

We've been saying this all along, haven't we? There is no good Brexit deal.

Day6 and Lemongrove are being rather quiet - care to tell us what you think about the current situation and NI/DUP in particular.

lemongrove Mon 04-Dec-17 19:37:35

Gill and jura your bitterness at the UK leaving the EU shines out like a beacon in your every post.
How many times do I have to say that I am very happy to be leaving ( not too fussed about the type of Brexit.)
Can’t speak for Day6 but I am not on GN every hour of the day to answer demanding posts.
I want NI to be entirely happy with what happens, since you mention it, as NI is an important part of the UK. Eire isn’t.
No doubt a solution will be found to satisfy all, if the will is there.

whitewave Mon 04-Dec-17 19:40:20

lemon part of Eire is.

whitewave Mon 04-Dec-17 19:46:22

Reading on twitter that DUP asking for more cash, some Tories are willing to part with more of our money.

jura2 Mon 04-Dec-17 19:54:51

Bitter? No - not all all. Angry, sad, disappointed and much more, oh yes. Because when you see someone or something you truly love being torn apart in such a way - then yes, it is indeed very upsetting.

My chidren, grandchidren, nieces and nephews are in the UK, and their future is at risk- and yes, it upsets me hugely.
The situation in the UK is truly dire and today has shown this in a most clear way.

Stop your ' it will all turn ok' - give us some way forward- please tell us how you think the NI situation can be worked out. Give us facts, not guts.

I'll admit to one thing though - my grandkids are entitled to my nationality, and also Eire (although grand-parents are from NI)- if it all goes up- they will have many doors open to them- will yours?

Day 4 of the Brexit advent calender

There has been a drop of 96% of nurses registering from the EU since the referendum.

durhamjen Mon 04-Dec-17 20:03:39

36,000 nurse vacancies, I read today.

petra Mon 04-Dec-17 20:13:55

Whitewave
Which part of Eire comes under the UK. Genuine question.

durhamjen Mon 04-Dec-17 20:23:48

www.theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/public-back-second-referendum-1-5305617

Philip Hammond is not having a very happy birthday, is he?

durhamjen Mon 04-Dec-17 20:26:51

Northern Ireland is in the UK.
The rest of it is the Republic of Ireland.
All counties together are Eire.

lemongrove Mon 04-Dec-17 20:29:11

There will be some border villages Petra in where houses or businesses are in both NI and Eire, back door in Eire front in NI etc. There won’t be problems if no hard borders are put up.

whitewave Mon 04-Dec-17 20:32:14

petra dj gave you the answer.

whitewave Mon 04-Dec-17 20:32:48

lemon grin love it
