I know, it hardly seems possible does it but here you go.

Not only is it another racist comment about Elizabeth Warren but to do it at an event honouring Navajo veterans would beggars belief (if it weren’t Trump that is).

And today it's Trump v TM . That will boost her popularity!

If we ignore the things that DT says it will simply strengthen his racist, homophobic etc. views and those of his supporters because lack of challenge suggests that no one disagrees with him.

Such views have to be challenged whenever we come across them. We cannot allow them to become seen a normal/acceptable.

But this time the bride is american - might make a difference.

It seems that the USA has elected a fascist as their leader. This is their choice and just as some in this country believed in the propaganda the last time a country did this, there will be those who those who call on his poor logic to say that he is right in this country this time too.

The last time we did not find it easy to deal with and I doubt we will this time.

I read that one reason Obama wasnt invited was the sheer costs and logistics of providing POTUS level security. Multiply this a 1000 times for DT - it would completely detract from the wedding and regardless of what I think about the monarchy, how could anyone wish that sort of circus on any couple getting married? The public order issues would be beyond imagining.

Good point - and perhaps that's why he's always going on about the Islamist threat in the UK - he's scared to come .

Brendan Cox’s response to Donald Trump’s attack on Theresa May is the only thing you need to read today

I am absolutely convinced that he will not be invited to the wedding and secondly that at least for 2018 there will be no SV. Who knows after that - he may well l have blown us all up by then

Jalima1108 Thu 30-Nov-17 23:12:30

shock
but it's not the blowing up, it's the nuclear fall-out.

Or perhaps ...... we can live in hope that he may be impeached or something.

maryeliza54 Thu 30-Nov-17 23:16:16

Well either way, a SV will be the least of anyone's problems?

GracesGranMK2 Thu 30-Nov-17 23:37:52

I wouldn't be surprised if he does come eventually - if he has not been impeached by the time we get round to it. Other than Boris, we have a history of being incredibly good at dealing with difficult situations, giving people just the right welcome while staying above the nonsense. I have no doubt we could do it again if it where necessary for the sake of the relationship between, not Trump and May but Britain and the USA.

durhamjen Thu 30-Nov-17 23:38:51

Has Boris commented on trump's tweets?

GracesGranMK2 Fri 01-Dec-17 00:10:31

I haven't seen anything Jen. They may have gagged him.

durhamjen Fri 01-Dec-17 00:27:30

He said that Britain First was hateful, but never criticised trump. It would have been better if he'd pretended not to know, rather than do that.

Friday Fri 01-Dec-17 07:49:33

A facist or jump plain thick? Of course the two tend to go hand in hand.

There’s a growing theory that he actually thought Britain First was similar to his philosophy of America First.

The man is a moron.

Friday Fri 01-Dec-17 07:49:52

Just not jump

Iam64 Fri 01-Dec-17 08:22:23

He may have imagined Britain First was like his America first philosophy. The scary thing is, he's probably right.

mcem Fri 01-Dec-17 08:29:12

I know very little about Meghan Markle but have seen reports of her humanitarian work abroad.
Seems to me she's unlikely to be a Trump supporter and probably would not want him at her wedding.

Iam64 Fri 01-Dec-17 08:34:06

She is not a Trump supporter mcem. Neither I expect is Harry. However, the RF weddings include their 'work' for the country. The Queen has met or hosted some terrible despots in her time and seems to manage the necessary diplomacy well.
I'm fairly sure protocol won't mean the Trumpster gets an invite. What will be interesting is whether he bows to pressure and removes the hate filled and possibly illegal tweets. The man is a dangerous buffoon. He makes Boris look statesmanlike.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 01-Dec-17 08:43:16

I find the idea that all fascists are thick a very worrying one. It is no more the truth than all of any other political persuasion are thick. It is just a political view of the world, how it is and how it should be run.

maryeliza54 Fri 01-Dec-17 08:51:08

MM posted her support for HC on social media and made clear her views on DT. She stopped using social media a year ago as would be expected. I don’t think for one minute that DT will remove the tweets - he’s not wired like that is he? How TM must be regretting that SV invite and HM is probably not happy to be embroiled in this - given what was known about DT by the time he was elected who on earth thought a SV was acceptable compared to a normal political visit? It was absolutely unprecedented and I think Palace advisers as well as TM should hang their heads in shame. I suppose it was all part of the collective madness that is Brexit.

Friday Fri 01-Dec-17 10:43:55

I didn’t say all fascist are thick. However there is a kind of stereotypical dumb, skin head type of fascist that one often sees on these marches. Trump strikes me as having more in common with them than those who might have some higher level thinking skills.

maddy629 Fri 01-Dec-17 12:39:53

Trump is a dreadful man, my cat would make a better president.

jura2 Fri 01-Dec-17 12:46:41

oh my radical nan - he is an old man who happens to be the President of the USA - and has a massive influence on the world as a whole. An old man with the finger on the nuclear button ...

I actually watched Question Time last night - because I wanted to hear what Yanis Varoufakis had to say- his condemnation of Trump's BF tweets was clear. And I was very happy to see that the vast majority of the people of Scarborough present, of all ages, Brexiters or reemainers, left or right or in the middle- agreed that 'normalising hatred' and this for the UK and not even the USA - is NOT right or anodine- at all, as Chuka Ummuna eloquently said:
