Aaron Banks is a bad boy of Brexit. He has told Ukip that they have served their purpose now, and should join the Tory party, to work from within.

Well, I've just spent an hour in a sauna with a group of blokes, most of them young, who told me that the EU were responsible for all the immigration to this country and we had no control over it. They wouldn't believe me when I said we could have implemented controls over the years. Having said that, they did seem to be of a mindset that brexit wasn't going to happen. Oh, and I mentioned the Miriam Margoles programme where that awful man said that all immigrants in America should be sent back to their own country and that all Jews should be put on an island and sterilised and they said that he 'had a point'. I did make the point that, if all the immigrants were sent home that would be great for the Native American tribes because they could then have their lands back but it fell on deaf ears.......

...oh, and the reason I go to the sauna at night is that the conversation in the afternoon with the older lot is even more racist....

What does a bit of poverty matter compared with the delerious joy engendered by leaving the evil EU?

Anna Soubry has called upon Theresa May to 'sling out' those she called the "hard Brexiteers" in the Party. She said the front bench was in hock to 35 ideological leave supporters. She insisted she wouldn't stay in a party taken over by people like Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson.

I wonder if this is another step towards the formation of a more centre party or if Brexit alone is not enough to do that. I cannot see the Conservative Party surviving this time although I realise that feeling may come from my hope to see the end of very right-wing Conservative parties in power. The "Hard Brexiteers" have always been a problem and they seem to have so much control for the numbers they have in parliament. If they do get control the Tories they will, in turn, have problems with the more Europhile, less right wing members.

Perhaps Brexit is not enough to break them up. However, it is also showing who are to the far-right of Conservatism with all it's neoliberal overtones. When this group includes JRM with his social views that are so far to the right they move into the unsavoury area of politics, I can see even the idea of what 'Conservatism' actually is becoming a split within the party.

When we spoke to Anna last year she told us what she thought of Boris et al so I'm not surprised to hear this. Whatever her voting record, I do know how passionate she is about the EU and I hold her in the highest esteem.

Yes for lorry parking. I caught it on the evening tv programme but no details. I sort of got the I impression that it was the government but I might be wrong. I do wonder whether it will be wishful thinking as there was loads of protest last time they tried putting in a lorry park and I think they simply couldn’t get planning permission, but I suppose government could override that if it is deemed in the national interest.
