It is not given to me to start a threads on politics, I don't believe I have ever contributed to one either.
However I cannot let pass the comment from a conservative councillor currently skiing in the USA who wants the homeless and rough sleepers cleared from the streets of
Windsor before the wedding in May.
God forbid that visitors here to see an obscene and ostentatious picture of wealth and privelage should be confronted by the "have nots" of our society.

Also expected boost to the economy of £500 million .

Bridgeit Sun 18-Mar-18 21:11:29

Just read that only the security amount was paid out of the public purse @ 7million for William & Kate.

Bridgeit Sun 18-Mar-18 21:06:58

So possibly not accurate?

Hm999 Sun 18-Mar-18 20:53:09

The Express quoted £24m for security, and Will & Kate's security was about £20m

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 19:36:13

Where was this amount published?

Bridgeit Sun 18-Mar-18 17:31:43

Sorry meant as Paddyann’s post suggests

Bridgeit Sun 18-Mar-18 17:26:55

Going by an article I have just read, the cost is not 24 million, also it will apparently be paid for by several sources including the Royal Family it will also benefit the local area, business etc. Not saying it’s right or wrong but it certainly is not as one dimensional as the OP suggests.

Bridgeit Sun 18-Mar-18 16:48:27

Is that an official figure 24 million? I find that unbelievable & if correct unacceptable.

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 14:02:17

Really, shysal?
Is it still valid? Does he have to be wearing the policeman's cape?
I hope it's not like Shylock's pound of flesh. If any splashes on the policeman's boots, is it a crime?

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 09:06:56

Paddyann, Putin is a multi billionaire !

shysal Sun 18-Mar-18 09:05:22

Some years ago a doctor friend took an ancient apothecary exam which gave him the right to urinate under a policeman's cape!

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 09:03:04

Why did you have the need to attack me Paddyann ?

paddyann Sun 18-Mar-18 00:40:29
