Lets not forget that £10 per hour minimum wage costs an employer a hell of a lot more in employers National Insurance and pension contribution etc.
Let's not forget that someone who is at present earning £2 more than the minimum wage will expect to be paid £2 more than the new minimum wage - and why not? And so it goes on all the way up the scale - resulting in price increases and inflation and we are back to square one. I am not against the minimum wage - of course not - but sudden jumps like that ricochet all the way up.
