Ooooh Devor, I needed a kick up the bum x ? .
Read this mornings email, a Momentum and UNITE supported candidate lost out in Watford and a shadow minister ,nameless, has been speaking to the press, seems he/she said Corbyn will be too old to lead the party in 2020.
Getting shot of Ann Black has caused much anger

AB, don't let anyone or any faction drive you out of the party you have supported all your life. The motto is to always be wary of rule changes. You never know when what was thought a great idea comes back to bite the proposers themselves. Deselection can work both ways. On here, we all know you as a fighter who stands her ground, so come out fighting.
Yes Day 6 and when Lily was appointed Women's Officer, he did so by ousting a "cis" woman, new fangled shite terminology for women who identify with the sex they were born into
if you get my drift, or authentic women like 99.9999999 per cent of the adult female population. Although possibly not any longer the way things are shaping up over there on Planet Corbyn.
Meanwhile over on MN one of the many threads pertaining to the young man who now goes by the moniker of Lily Madigan "Labour Party invents new bollocks, made up non existent definitions for women". Quite a few women on these threads state that Labour have lost their support due to their stance on men defining as women and all the ramifications that has for actual women who were born female. What a strange unfathomable parallel universe transgender politics is directing us to.
"Gender issues aside, I cannot see how a teenager who regularly posts how they cannot cope and cannot handle 'stuff' can represent women who need support."
Indeed Primrose
He is 19, is a teenage boy who 'identifies as a woman' (But basically he is a man) who has been appointed Women's Officer in the Labour Party, because he can tick that box. If you scream loud enough about your rights you can throw away hundreds of years of work done by brave women to have the rights and experiences of women recognised.
It really is scandalous and should concern women everywhere. Why aren't female MPs in the Labour Party protesting about it?
Cooperation and coalition does NOT mean to agree on everything- at all- as said above. It means being honest and intelligent enough to see that other people may have good ideas and how to implement them. Even those you don't like, or even despise- rather than throw the baby away with the bathwater, again and again, see saw, see saw - just for the sake of being the 'opposition'. Hugely wasteful, in a 100 of ways.
Day6 The Lily Madigan debacle is shocking to me too. I stumbled across it a while ago. My opinions about self-defining gender have changed quite rapidly in last few months. Originally, I thought it was a big deal about nothing - I owe a debt of gratitude to the posters here on GN for arguing the case with me as it encouraged me to find out a bit more about it.
Gender issues aside, I cannot see how a teenager who regularly posts how they cannot cope and cannot handle 'stuff' can represent women who need support.
Jura, I have NOT accused YOU of being a Stepford wife. Read my post properly.
I mentioned the fictitious Stepford which runs along 'harmonious' lines. Nor did I mention gender. You haven't been accused of being anything. Stepford is an example of a 'place' where all people agree to agree.
A dictatorship in disguise?
Dare we mention Lily Madigan, transgender issues and what's happening to women within the Labour Party?
How can a male teenager (19?) who has only recently declared himself to be a woman be eligible as a women's officer? He was appointed to the post because he "identifies as a woman." It's outrageous.
Apparently now, if you can tick a box and 'identify' as a woman, Labour allows you to stand for women's posts within the party. So a man can totally undermine women just by saying he feels he is a women and can take a position designated for women.
Women have fought for centuries to be recognised and have struggled to have a voice. Women's experiences of life are so different from mens' in so many respects. That the Labour party now allows men to become womens' officers is deplorable.
Labour are encouraging this craziness in gender politics. No wonder so many female members of the Labour party have torn up their membership cards. I am outraged on their behalf.
Oh dear- well that is the first time I am accused of being a Stepford wife - for sure.
You have a strange idea of cooperation- it does NOT mean you all agree- it means you listen to each other- and you agree to work together for the common good- even when you don't agree. Each time an election swings t'other way in the UK, the Left or Right decides to undo everything achieved by the other lot- even if some of it was good.
But again- you choose to misread what I am saying. The potential for trouble is there, and I'd question the motivation of anyone who says hate crime has not risen since last year.
Corbyn will not even talk brexit with the other parties , he wants out of the EU
"The fact I am concerned about Farage and others threatening civil unrest - he actually calls it 'war'- "
Jura, this is NOT unique to the UK. Almost every country in Europe has seen political unrest and the emergence of far right, racist parties. It's a global problem, probably aided by the way in which we communicate today. The harmony you seek, where everyone cooperates and agrees about how things should be done only exists in Stepford.

Ann Black has always been popular with voters for the NEC, she is a constuency representative as is Shawcroft, but she is not a director of Momentum as is Shawcroft .
Left of centre and soft left are very angry . I see no hope for certain MP's , if they are pushed out I will then leave the party , no reason to stay . The far left must be happy bunnies , first blood to Momentum and only took a day.
Are we really concerned about Farage, or do we realise it is a load of hot air?
Petra, I really do not think you read my posts- at all. Nowhere have I said the UK is a racist country, never- on the contrary if you do read my posts.
Because of the First Past the Post- the UK is constantly swining from left to right and back again- and parties working together to govern is VERY rare. There is basically 2 parties in effect - Cons that go from centre right to ult right, and Labour from centre left to ult left.
The fact I am concerned about Farage and others threatening civil unrest - he actually calls it 'war'- does NOT mean, at all, that I believe the UK is a racist country. NO.
" but I can't think of any EU country were politics are so polarised, and where coalition and working together - is seen has anathema and 'wrong'."
You haven't noticed the rise and rise of far right nationalist parties in Europe?
Merkel's position has been threatened very recently. "Angela Merkel appeared to have staged one of the great political escapes on Friday after a rival party agreed to end the crisis in Germany by opening talks on forming a new government.Martin Schulz, the leader of the Social Democrats (SPD), said his party had agreed to end its refusal to enter talks with Mrs Merkel"
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/11/24/angela-merkel-rescued-opposition-martin-schulz-ends-refusal/
And Macron?
"France's president Emmanuel Macron went from being a virtual political unknown to the leader of the world's fifth-largest economy in little more than a year. ... As a former minister who has never held elected office, and lacking an established party apparatus to run his campaign...."

Very strange things are happening right across Europe at times of election. There is instability - look at the Spanish problems - and people who are voting for parties the polar opposite of the ones which have power.
We have our usual Lab/Con see-saw. It's been the same throughout my lifetime, although I had high hopes for the SDP which promised something different in the '80s. That didn't materialise.
I am thankful the Conservative party has gained much more of the centre ground of late, relating to working classes and the less privileged whilst Labour, fuelled by middle class elites and Momentum is moving further and further to the left. It has deserted it's traditional roots and looks to revolutionary and blinkered but idealistic youth to give it strength.
The divide is getting bigger as more and more genuinely working class people fear Labour's alternative agenda.
It seems that Christine Shawcross has already blocked investigations into anti-semitism.
I can't see that being a problem.
jura2
but I can't think of any eu country where politics are so polarised
The Afd gained 94 seats in the Bunderstag.
How many seats do UKIP have in our parliament? I think these figures put the lie to your opinion that we are a racist country.
Jura, what was the cost of bailing out the banks, what is the cost of bailing out Carillion and what is the cost of the renationalisation plans?
Absolutely- the point I was trying to make - is that people are so polarized. Many Cons here state again and again that anything JC would do would send the country into economic decline and disaster - whilst totally ignoring the massive cost of bailing out the banks and now bailing out Carillion - because even if they are not given support themsleves- the GVT (us tax payers actually- and the NHS, education, etc, etc in many ways) will have to pick up the unfinished buildings and projects, the unemployment and social costs, and more. Not even talking about all the tax those huge projects should have produced for the benefit of all. Etc, etc.
The idea that Labour = Left = financial disaster- and Cons = right = financial miracle - just does not make sense any more.
It is not just the NHS which needs cross party coalition and thinking. And yes, i know- the UK is not 'other countries' - but I can't think of any EU country were politics are so polarised, and where coalition and working together - is seen has anathema and 'wrong'.
Well, she was definitely targetted, Annie. I look forward to Jared O'Mara back in the HoP next week.
Just seen that Chris Williamson has been caught out for not declaring a second home that he rents out as he finds the rules 'ambiguous'. Well, that's fine, as he's not a Tory.
A victory for 21st Century socialism indeed.
No idea why you like to label everyone Conservative, just because they don't like Corbyn
It probably means that the majority of the country must be 'Conservatives' because they are suspicious of Corbyn and McDonnell
don't think so - there must be many Labour supporters who feel the same. And Liberals - and others.
Ann Black
Just read your post Annie.
One down and so many more to go.
Could Corbyn and his socialist policies ever cost that much
Yes. Much more.
No idea why you like to label everyone Conservative, just because they don't like Corbyn.
Can I move this to the other thread, is that allowed?
GNHQ if not, perhaps you will delete this one on here, thanks.
