Continuity of previous thread.

It is interesting to know that the Tories have chosen the environment as one of the focuses in order to try and tackle the young vote.

This morning I read that this failing government (shades of Trumpgrin is refusing to sign up to the EUs plan to tackle plastic waste.

A prime example f this government shooting itself in the foot on a number of levels.

Biggest let out clause of all is "Nothing's agreed until everything's agreed", whitewave.

durhamjen Mon 05-Feb-18 10:38:54

I am sure jura will be along to let us know, Maw.

Back to the less boring thread.

Now that No 10 have confidently announced that there will be no CU, I am waiting for the equally confident explanation over Ireland and full regulatory alignment.

Interesting that Quazi whatshisname (there goes my spelling again) sort of gave the government a let out clause this morning talking about leaving the CU.

He said

“That is the government’s starting position” indicating perhaps that they will move (almost certainly imo) from that.

As I used to tell the kids I taught, nobody's spelling is dire. Most people spell at least 95% of words correctly. It's just the other few that you might or might not get wrong, and they just need practice if you can be bothered.
It's people who misspell words incorrectly on purpose who annoy me.

MawBroon Mon 05-Feb-18 10:33:08

Back on form DJ!

Not correcting - sharing information.
Normally if one corrects one’s own spelling, the preview function is more than adequate (or simply deleting and retyping) hmm
Anyway, revenons à nos moutons as one might say.

whitewave Mon 05-Feb-18 10:31:19

My spelling is dire. I’m quite happy for anyone to correct it as I am completely relaxed about spelling. I’m still in the 17th century! Along with thug Mogg of course.

As long as the reader can make sense of it I’m happy.

durhamjen Mon 05-Feb-18 10:22:58

She's also the first one to correct anybody else's spelling of the name.
I thought jura was correcting her own, thinking that Laura's ue was a German u with umlaut. I was going to ask jura where she got that from.
So perhaps Maw ought to take her own advice and put the red pen away.

lemongrove Mon 05-Feb-18 09:57:45

Maw seems you are the first on here with the correct spelling! ?

MawBroon Mon 05-Feb-18 09:47:18

Kuensberg - Künsberg even

Oh dear Jura2, correcting ( lemongrove’s ) spelling again ?
Put that teacher red pen away! grin

(Especially as it is Kuenssberg ) grin

Sunday Rudd says there will definately be a customs union after Brexit
Raab rules it out and No 10 agrees.

Wonder what will happen this week?

whitewave Mon 05-Feb-18 09:29:46

I am beginning to think that Mogg is simply a polite thug stuck in the eighteenth century. His chums including Farage in the Westminster masons are rolling Maybot over and over. The latest debacle over the CU shows how much sway this minority of hard right/ authoritarians have over the headlines and poor old Maybot who doesn’t seem to know whether she is coming or going.

Time line last week over the CU

Thursday. The government legislates a fast track power for a customs union. Fox agrees that a customs union will exist after Brexit

Friday May refuses to rule out a customs union. Fox rules it out.

There was a chilling message from Britain First recently- saying that if people come out against Rees-Mogg- Britain First will find out where they work and live and attack them and their families.

I hope this has been reported to Police - and it is chilling indeed. I am not afraid for myself- but the thought that they would search through your FB account to find out about you and especially your family- adult children and grandchildren- is truly scary. Reminds me of the Stasi.

durhamjen Sun 04-Feb-18 22:35:11

Great minds, whitewave. I put that on another thread just before I looked at this one.
One of Mogg's followers, eh?
He managed to get through that scrum pretty quickly. Perhaps he shouldn't wear a white shirt next time.

whitewave Sun 04-Feb-18 20:23:05

He will probably deny having a meeting with Bannon last week.

Britain First supports Mogg.

whitewave Sun 04-Feb-18 20:12:26

Mogg is looking even more of a liar.

Remember the fracas in Bristol and the white shirted thug? Mogg denied knowing him. White shirted man has been photographed with Mogg numerous times.

More lies Mogg.

I see that at least two Tory councils have run out of money. Not much good at running their budget are they?

durhamjen Sun 04-Feb-18 14:45:33

Just for you, primrose.

Has anyone seen this in any MSM?

You couldn't make it up. A tax fraudster as well.

The Eurosceptics are afraid that May is about to negotiate a customs deal with the EU.
I feel a bit sorry for May. How did she end up in this uncomfortable position?

mostlyharmless Sun 04-Feb-18 14:18:06

I see the Eurosceptic Tory MPs are pushing to overthrow May and install their "Brexit Dream Team" (Boris, Gove and JRM).
More like my idea of a Nightmare team.

durhamjen Sun 04-Feb-18 14:07:47

Whitewave, it was on the BBC news channel last night. I didn't see it on the BBC that most people watch, but there were only a few thousand people there, and more thousands in other parts of the country. Not enough for proper BBC news.

whitewave Sun 04-Feb-18 13:16:21

Thanks for that maize

MaizieD Sun 04-Feb-18 13:13:49

ww. There's a bit about the 'rally' on the BBC website if you search hard enough

It's in the RH side bar on the Politics page, entitled "Nursing profession being killed" So pretty obvious not that that links to the London demo, isn't it? [eye roll ]
