Continuity of previous thread.

It is interesting to know that the Tories have chosen the environment as one of the focuses in order to try and tackle the young vote.

This morning I read that this failing government (shades of Trumpgrin is refusing to sign up to the EUs plan to tackle plastic waste.

A prime example f this government shooting itself in the foot on a number of levels.

The Fail who calls our Judges and leader of the opposition traitors.

What stake does this owner have in U.K. society?

Animal welfare bill

The government, because of people like the Fox hunting lobby and hunting and shooting have excluded the animal sentient and welfare bill from the EU overall bill because they are bending to these powerful lobbies and watering down animal welfare.

The HoL appear to be hoping to scupper this. May the force be with them!! Although animal sentience a humane intention by the EU is still being dropped as far as I understand

DUP now running Northern Ireland from Westminster.

What a dangerous road May is treading. Trashing the GFA will bring nothing but disaster.

I was reading that ministers could have breached international law over the environment with Brexit.
The UN is looking into it.
Apparently there should have been a public consultation and FOE lawyers are looking into it.

I wonder if Sinn Fein will take their seats in the commons over Brexit.

whitewave Sat 24-Feb-18 10:09:37

They jolly well ought to if they represent their constituents.

I doubt it though.

It would be one way if avoiding a fall into violence and dissendence though.

durhamjen Sat 24-Feb-18 10:47:23

I agree. They must be having some really agonising meetings at the moment.

More about Yarl's Wood.

"The charity launching the challenge is called Bail for Immigration Detainees (BID). It gives legal help to people held under immigration powers in detention centres and prisons. Last year G4S staff were caught on camera abusing and humiliating people in a detention centre. [3] BID has launched its case to make sure G4S's shocking behaviour isn't rewarded with more government contracts in the future.

38 Degrees members have a history of standing up to G4S and other companies making huge profits from privatisation. We won a campaign to stop them being paid to handle 999 police calls in the Midlands. We spoke out against plans to have them run the national discrimination hotline. And 180,000 of us signed the petition to stop them getting police powers of arrest. [4]

If this court case succeeds, it won't stop all privatisation scandals. But it will make it a lot harder for companies like G4S to keep failing the public, again and again."

I hope this succeeds. It's from 38 degrees.

Tom London tweeted

“It is necessary only for the good man to do nothing for evil to triumph”
Edmund Burke

Think of the Republicans in Congress who dispose Trump but dare not oppose him

Think of MPs who understand that austerity is cruel, unnecessary and killing people, yet dare not oppose it.

A bit of history for those who support the right wing press.

The Tories are to hire armies of tweeters to take the fight to Corbyn and try to win back the young vote.

How will that work? Corbyns support has always been from the grass roots whose brilliant organisation and shared values have made it the success it is.

Nothing in a hire army of tweeters can possible have the same appeal, and will be recognised for exactly what it is -a phoney propaganda machine.

durhamjen Sun 25-Feb-18 15:10:42

I wonder if this is the sort of tweet they mean.

durhamjen Sun 25-Feb-18 15:20:08

When Bradley was a councillor, he once complained about the council hiring a call centre in Asia to call his constuents about council business. That was a lie, too.
Hope the tory army of tweeters is not paid for, and British born and bred.

Actually, is that not what the tories object to in Momentum?

whitewave Sun 25-Feb-18 15:20:32

dj gloriousgrin

We could have a spot the paid Tory tweeter competition.

durhamjen Sun 25-Feb-18 16:01:17

I was just looking at Bradley's twitter feed and noticed he had retweeted this.
I thought it was a joke, so looked at the DHSC website and it isn't!

Some people must live in a parallel universe.

Fox the former disgraced defence minister has joined in the lies over Corbyn.

Remind me why was he sacked?

Oh yes for taking cash bungs from Israel and Saudi. Would that be treason?

whitewave Sun 25-Feb-18 18:36:12

Do the Tories have no sense of embarrassment in having to pay people to argue their case on social media?

Any been spotted yet. A free copy of the successful Tory 2017 manifesto to the person who spots the most.

durhamjen Sun 25-Feb-18 22:41:16

I look forward to reading Fox's apology in the media, and hope he has to pay a lot of money to a foodbank.
Doesn't he know the rules yet? He can say things like that in parliament under parliamentary privilege, but not on political programmes.

durhamjen Tue 27-Feb-18 16:55:22

While looking at David Allen Green's tweets I discovered that Ben Bradley's apology to Corbyn has surpassed the number of retweets of Donald Trump this year.

whitewave Tue 27-Feb-18 17:04:01

Wonderful - the power of social media

whitewave Tue 27-Feb-18 18:32:11

More corruption from this government.

Remember the Toby Young debacle?

At the time Jo Johnson told parliament that the procedure in employing Young, was fair, open and honest. Today’s investigation proves that he was not telling the truth . Jo Johnson mislead parliament. It was a case of pure cronyism.

durhamjen Tue 27-Feb-18 18:38:13

I think we knew that anyway, but it's good to have proof.
It shows the Johnson family do not know the meaning of fair and honest.
No wonder sibling four does not want to be on wiki.
