Poverty of ideas
Poverty of economy

It seems that NI is as useless said to stay in the Single Market according to EU draft.

Expect a major row from the headbangers and denial from Number 10

Round and around we go.

Anna Soubry agrees with me!, Blimey!! As she said “where is Keir Starmer”?

whitewave Mon 26-Feb-18 08:28:45

Saying all that though Nick Robinson was incredibly rude. My god the Brexit broadcasting company really does need to get a grip

So here is a summary of the government’s position on Brexit according to David Alan Green

The government confirms that it will not join the customs union proposed by Labour, and instead the U.K. will be in another form of customs union which will not be the customs union or any existing customs union, but a new customs union with exactly the same effect as the Customs Union.

Glad that has been cleared up

In hell you will be forced to take part a swingers party, and these are the people who will be attending

Thanks for that picture, whitewave.
Fortunately I do not believe in hell.

This is May's hell.

Doesn't sound so bad to me :-) There are lots of imaginative things I would like to do to those two that would be very amusing

Just come across Daphne du Maurier's book 'Rule Britannia' which was mentioned on facebook. About Britain leaving the common market and becoming part of the US. Never heard of the book before but sounds quite contemporary...

Summary of Fox’s speech

From my left hand “any form of a customs union would be a complete sellout”

From my right hand “my government has signed an agreement that pledges full alignment on a customs union to preserve the Irish border.

Poor old Fox he sounds as daft as his fellow dim brexiter who talks about borders in Pimlico.

Barnier has just revealed that there has been zero progress since December.

What the hell is this bloody government doing except grandstanding with speeches they gave a year ago.

I knew it would happen in my lifetime. 2052; what was he thinking of?
Just hope The Death of Grass doesn't happen yet, although it might if Bayer and Monsanto are allowed to join up.

Brexit is a threat to our human rights.

Have we talked about The Death of Grass Jen? It's a favourite of mine - so prescient. Probably needs another thread.

durhamjen Tue 27-Feb-18 22:14:26

Yes, I've always liked John Christopher novels. In fact I bought that for my daughter in law to read with my grandson.
The problem with him is that his dystopia is too close for comfort now.
I used to have a book called the Science of Jurassic Park, too!

GracesGranMK2 Tue 27-Feb-18 22:25:38

It's amazing - or frightening - when you think when it was written.

durhamjen Tue 27-Feb-18 23:30:32

I always used to say there weren't any books like that when I was at primary school, but I was when it was written.
Not long after 1984, either.
I used to teach it in the 80s. I hadn't realised it was written in the 50s.
