Hopefully this will be about politics and news only ,with no personal remarks or attempts to stifle.

Jon Lansman is more dangerous than Corbyn, at least at the moment.

Note to self: do not feed.

If you suspect someone of being a troll, please don't accuse them publicly on the discussion thread (if you're wrong, you could cause untold hurt; if you're right, you'll merely be giving them just the kind of attention they're after).

Instead, please report your suspicions to us (either by reporting a post of theirs or by mailing us at [email protected]) and we'll check them out.

Please bear in mind that we'd rather err on the side of being taken in than of accusing a genuine poster who's in need of support of being a troll.

I have just had a look on one of a Momentum FB page and found this. posted from Newsnight a few nights ago. If this is what they are advocating they seem to have ideas I am interested in.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 15:29:01

I was just quoting Annie, Primrose. I wonder just how often she has put "do not feed the need" on these boards - nothing to do with Trolls or rickety rackety bridges as far as I am concerned.

Quote primrose [Blimey! As grandad has had years of teaching union members industrial safety, I'm sure he's handled a few characters a bit more fearsome than a granny on a chat forum!
grandad- if you find me too scary to handle, just let me know.I'm always happy to apologise if someone believes I've overstepped a line.] End Quote

Strange reply there primrose. I do not feel you have overstepped the line in your replies to me, and I do not feel that anywhere in my above posts have I indicated that I am in any way "afraid" of you.

If you believe so please demonstrate to me in which posting I indicated the above.

Primrose65 Fri 23-Feb-18 15:49:08

Grandad Sorry for the confusion. The first sentence is a response to the post by GracesGranMK2 at 12:49:46.

I didn't think you were at all worried about my posts and thanks for clarifying that.

lemongrove Fri 23-Feb-18 15:52:32

Another poster wondered if you had been put off posting on here Grandad ( not sure why.)
So that was a light hearted response I believe, by Primrose

lemongrove Fri 23-Feb-18 15:52:56

X posts.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 15:53:02

As grandad has had years of teaching union members industrial safety, I didn't say anything about Grandad's years teaching Industrial Safety!

Primrose65 Fri 23-Feb-18 15:53:11

I was just quoting Annie, Primrose. Nothing to do with Trolls

Well, I live and learn. What's it about then? It makes no sense to me if it's not alluding to posters being trolls. No point in asking anyone else what you meant by it, as you posted it without reference to anything.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 15:59:10

Primrose, if you are going to quote someone could you do it with accuracy please not the Primrose version of how Primrose want it to read. Far be it from me to teach my grandmother, etc., but you do need to declare you are missing great chunks out. It should have been

I was just quoting Annie, Primrose. ... nothing to do with Trolls. To be honest I doubt you would, in any sense normally get away with that as you missed so much out of the middle but would be expected to make it two separate quotes. Misquoting is tantamount to lying even if it does no harm at the time.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 16:00:28

Ask Annie what it's about. She has used it frequently - perhaps that's an exaggeration. She has used it quite often.

lemongrove Fri 23-Feb-18 16:01:29

Get back to sticking to politics perhaps?

Grandad1943 Fri 23-Feb-18 16:01:38

Apologies if I caused confusion, and I would certainly not be "put off" posting on here in the future. I find it a very welcoming and knowledgeable forum especially compared to an alternative over 50s forum I visited in recent times. So, thanks to all.

lemongrove Fri 23-Feb-18 16:03:07

That’s good.smile

Primrose65 Fri 23-Feb-18 16:05:50

I asked what you meant by it GG. If it's been used by anyone else in the past, that would be on a different thread.

As you've said it's not about trolls, what's it about, on this thread, in this context?

I think everyone can see that I was not trying to misrepresent anything. Now's your chance to make sure no one misunderstands what you meant, as I did.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 16:13:13

Sorry for the confusion. The first sentence is a response to the post by GracesGranMK2 at 12:49:46.

You know it is no good just blaming someone else all the time. I said nothing about how Grandad might feel in that post. It was addressed to you and only you Primrose.

Primrose65 Fri 23-Feb-18 16:15:21

Note to self: do not feed.

What does that mean in the context of this thread GG?

Anniebach Fri 23-Feb-18 16:20:13

I have just look back through this thread, there is no mention in my posts of - do not feed

lemongrove Fri 23-Feb-18 16:21:09

It was a puzzling comment I agree Primrose hmm

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 16:53:25

When Primrose post at 15:17:48 I self reported to check with GNHQ and they said they thought it was fine. However, after a page full of what felt like bullying, misrepresentation, etc., I have asked them to delete the post.

celebgran Fri 23-Feb-18 17:01:33

Graces gran mk2 sorry but I. But are you different to grannygrace?

GracesGranMK2 Fri 23-Feb-18 17:13:01

I think I must be celebgran. I have a feeling there was another name close to mine but "grace" was a dog.

Anniebach Fri 23-Feb-18 17:16:18

So posting something we think we have read on another thread is now allowed?

Primrose65 Fri 23-Feb-18 17:23:21

You're joking GG. You called me a troll and now you feel bullied?

No one has misrepresented anything here except you.
