A cruel barb against Annie GG Jesus was a realist too, and doing the right thing and outing villainy and greed with angry responses (money lenders in the temple anyone?) was part of his makeup. He wasn't meek and mild and accepting of tyranny. Annie expressing her disgust at the nature of a party (she has supported for many years) which has changed beyond recognition under Corbyn, is not un Christian.

I wonder if GG will be writing an end of term report for every contributor who can see Corbyn's faults and worries about the far left nature of the Labour Party? As for He didn't disagree with what is being done by the government but neither was he jingoistic. is making excuses for his inability to agree with the government regarding British security. His grudging support fools no one.

Could be he was sulking because there is no alternative but to stand together against Russia/or those who attempt to kill their enemies on British soil by nefarious means. Not backing the government in this case or doing it with ill-concealed reservations is extremely petty.

There is apparently an international protocol about nerve gas attacks. It was talked about on the BBC a few days ago by two experts who both agreed.
It seemed to involve first establishing the origin of the gas, then approaching the country of origin and giving them ten days to respond to the complaint. (Not 24hours as May did.)

True. It's very silly and shortsighted of him. It's often been said that he tends to support our enemies. He doesn't seem to understand national pride. He surely HAD to support the government regarding the Russian (?) use of nerve agents on British soil. There is no alternative but condemnation and standing up to Putin and co.

What evidence is there that international protocols are not being followed? Is he asking for something that's already happening? It's like demanding that Friday follows Thursday and then taking credit for it.

She is responding quite properly to an assassination attempt which also put the lives of British people at risk and caused disruption to the city where it took place.
Russia has responded with complete indifference.

It seems obvious to me that this nerve gas attack was probably an assassination attempt on an ex Russian spy (yes unfortunately his daughter and a policeman were badly affected too) but I don’t see that it’s an “attack on British Sovereignty” as some want to see it.
Starting a new Cold War might make Theresa May look “strong and stable” but Corbyn is right to be more cautious.
Blair and the WMD leading to the Iraq war comes to mind.

I think that the government have acted rightly and proportionately in what they are saying and doing, in fact I think Russia ( for all it’s bluster) expected worse.
However it’s still something that will act as a thorn in it’s side.What country would allow such a thing to go completely unpunished?
