I'm with you on the lack of choice - talk about trying to find the least worst option. I know that centrist Labour MPs have little desire to split from the main party as they don't want to split the vote. I'd agree with Annie too, that Corbyn wouldn't enter a coalition with anyone. It looks like we'll have to wait and see what happens. Something always does. (You can bet now I've said this, Chucka Umunna & Anna Soubry will announce a new party this evening.!)

I think the stardust is clearing from our eyes a bit regarding the current Labour Party,Primrose,sadly not a lot to choose from any party any the moment, but I do find the two afore mentioned a very worrying duo, & don’t believe they are what the country needs right now, sadly I find our choices do not inspirie confidence. Not sure what the answers are right now , I have often thought we should have a coalition Government , where they can fight for the good of everyone in this the country .There are brilliant politicians from all sides surely between them they perhaps could do better for us all.

Which argument GGMk2? It was a post about news! Ironically, John McDonnell saying something pretty sensible that no one has disputed.
The ad hominem attacks are certainly flowing, but there is no argument to rebut. Just insults. It's toxic.

Only have one thing to say about the Labour Party at the moment & that is :-Corbyn & McDonnell are making the party undesirable to certainly a few & perhaps even the many, only time will tell !

Why is that post any more confrontational than your posts Jalima? We all feel a level of confrontation on here not just one group but it does seem that anyone attacking the arguments of those on the right - not just on here - open themselves up to ad hominem attacks.

When it happens, as it does often on these boards, it really begs the question whether you have anything at all to rebut the substance of the argument being put forward.

David Davis, David Davies and Philip Davies have all appeared on RT, along with lots of other Tory MPs, including Crispin Blunt.
Tory MPs appearing on it is okay, but not Labour MPs, is that it?

The Tory MP who appeared was David Davies MP for Monmouth.

That seems to be the way the LP is going though Lemon. There was the 'immigration controls' as pledge 4 for the election in 2015. Corbyn made a horrible comment about cheap imported labour in Scotland. They seem to be going for the UKIP vote and it's pretty distasteful.

She's absolutely entitled to her opinion. But I don't see how she's qualified to provide a framework for UK political party funding. What makes you think she is? Especially when you promote a view that means she should not donate to parties herself, being Russian.

Jen, are you talking about the 20-second clip on College Green between Yvette Cooper and Alex Salmond where many MPs are talking to others? I thought you meant he appeared on RT for an interview.

Noticeably the TV news is moving to be a little more even handed today. They are so set in their ways that they can only attack initially but some people like to look deeper and not only at the superficial and politicians do need to be able to look deeper.

The taking of a noticeable percentage of the money you receive from one particular source is important. It may limit your ability to do what is right when something like this happens.

Skripal is a totally different issue to Litvinenko Jen, the only commonality is that they were both poisoned by Putin.
What's the actual problem with people like Lev Mikheev? Alexander Temerko? Apart from 'they're Russian' or 'they're Ukrainian'.

Litvinenko's wife asked the Tories to give the money back.
Not only have I seen it, but I have read both speeches without the braying.
It was the tory MPs who lacked gravity and common sense, and have now kindly made more people want to vote for Labour.
I really hope they carry on in that vein, and show the population how little they care about the seriousness of the situation.

I agree Lemon. He was partisan and tried to use it to score political points. Own goal I think and plenty of Labour MPs could see that.

If you had actually seen it GGM2 then you would have seen and heard not only what the government benches felt about Corbyn’s miserable and petty outpouring but also how ALL other Labour MP’s felt about it as they praised May for her statement.How embarrassed they obviously felt about their own leader!

Well, those of you who cannot see further than the right-wing Tory rhetoric, can shout and scream as become as jingoist as you like but I thought both May's and Corbyn's speeches yesterday (now I have seen them and not relied on the reporting on this forum) said what needed to be said and Corbyn's helped retain the balance. The braying of the Conservatives did not seem that different to normal but then, I have no expectation that they would be.

Thank heavens we can now see these things for ourselves rather than just relying on our press (or forum members) to accurately report them.
