Simple title so should be easy to update everyone with any bits of knowledge we gain.

For me it is Dj, I live in a constituency which hasn't had a labour MP since 1979 Labour always comes in third, I have canvassed at every election for Labour , we can't win but an increase in votes is encouraging for the candidate , we have had several candidates who have gone on to win a seat at the next election ,party loyalty is important to me, unlike Corbyn and Co.

Lemongrove Corbyn was speaking at Newcastle Uni.
Anniebach No photographer. Pictures taken and posted by the people working in the cafe .
Never mind havng time, Theresa wouldn't come up here without a huge security team.

I wouldn't suggest anyone voting for greens in primrose's constituency, as that would be a wasted vote.
Which one is that, has she said?

In fact, as the greens only have 1 MP, it would be a wasted vote throughout most of the country.

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 20:10:08

Primrose has told us that Starmer is her MP, so I presume it's Holborn and St Pancras.

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 20:16:12

Green party has 3 MEPs, until 2019.

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 20:41:29

The PM isn't allowed to travel around without high security

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 20:44:22

She can take her high security with her, then.
Fist bumps at Salisbury? That looked very high security!

trisher Sun 18-Mar-18 20:44:48

Just as well Annie she wouldn't be welcome up here. Her visit during the GE was carefully orchestrated. She arrived miles from anywhere and spoke at a meeting where the audience was invited and police kept protestors out of the way.

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 20:53:26

Corbyn's are carefully orchestrated by Momentum , he has never visited this safe Tory seat

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 21:06:38

He will, Annie. He's after the Tory ones.
On the other hand, maybe he trusts the party in your constituency.
Perhaps most of them are trustworthy.

trisher Sun 18-Mar-18 21:12:50

"orchestrated by Momentum"? Well no-one in the cafe knew he was going in. They were surprised to see him. In fact one member of staff was really pissed off because she was off work and missed him.
I would imagine the Uni invited him to speak, that's how it usually works.

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 21:42:23

It was actually the Northern Labour party regional conference. It's been planned for a while, nothing to do with momentum.

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 21:44:54

Corbyn will not come to this constituency

Nothing unusual in a politician being greeted by staff in a shop or cafe in an area where their party hold the seat. You obviously haven't travelled with a MP on an election campaign , and the cafe would have been checked before he went in, it's the way it works.

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 21:45:58

Dj, how do you know with such certaintly Momentum were not involved ?

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 21:46:13

You mean you did that even before momentum?
Who did the checking for you?

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 21:47:09

How do you know they were involved?

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 21:49:43

Interesting twitter thread.

”you obviously haven’t travelled with an MP on an electIon campaign”
I’m afraid I don’t recognise that version of events Annie. I have accompanied a Labour MP campaigning in my constituency and it was extremely informal. No visits to businesses, just knocking on doors. No checking in advance. In fact at one point, us canvassers had to rescue the female MP from the home of a rather abusive alcoholic. Definitely not all planned and pre-arranged.

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 22:20:50

My mistake, I meant leaders and MP's, unusual for a MP not to be accompanied by party activists , most unusual , the procedure is usually the activists introduce the MP to the voter , same with a candidate too.

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 22:25:36

Not all activists are momentum members.

Anniebach Sun 18-Mar-18 22:30:46

Who said they were. I find it so over the top that Corbyn is glorified here as being so popular, he is in many parts of the country but he doesn't do the hustings ,he trots around safe labour seats, he came to South Wales to Merthyr Tydfil ?

mostlyharmless Sun 18-Mar-18 22:52:56

Yes I expect the securitysituation is a bit tighter if it's a party leader Annie. This was just a lowly MP.

lemongrove Sun 18-Mar-18 22:53:54

Whoa, we are racing through another Corbyn thread.....soon be time for another one!

durhamjen Sun 18-Mar-18 23:08:44

You are the one who said that Corbyn's appearances are orchestrated by momentum, Annie.
I do wish you would make up your mind.
