A continuation of Momentum/Intertia/Magnetism.

Elastic? Plastic? Or at breaking point?

A thread for Corbyn lovers & haters

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 10:08:11

I disagree, Corbyn is vengeful, seems it has been forgotten his treatment of the MP who had to resign from his front bench vecause she as having treatment for breast cancer, her office in HQ was broken into by Corbyn staff, McDonald explained it was a mistake . Not forgetting him hugging a Momentum activist who verbally assaulted a female MP, a Jew who spoke out at Lady Shami's big moment before the cameras telling the world there was no anti semitism in the party, that was democracy?

Yes anniebatch, similar to Jacob Rees-Mogg having dinner with the Traditional Britain group who are calling for Barroness Lawrence to be "repatriated to her country of natural origin.

Or the very influential Conservative Bow Group also giving a dinner to the above extremists even after they made a call for " all black people to be repatriated to the countries of their ethnic origin.

All very vengfull anniebatch is it not.

I will not even respond to your above rediculas post Primrose. I genuinely really believed you were much above that sort of rubish and a great debator.

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 10:43:30

The Financial Times the paper that supported the financial establishment all the way through the Banking crisis.

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 10:48:42

Anyway, I am off to the office for a couple of hours. Will debate again on my return.

Pleasant posting everybody.

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 10:49:17

Thinking of Corbyn's past he has always had a problem with anyone who didn't dance to his tune, he even left his college course because he didn't agree with his tutors over the curriculum, not forgetting his treatment of the second Mrs Corbyn who dissgreed with him over their sons education,

My way or no way is Corbyn's mantra, strange to call that democracy

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 10:53:36

Oh Grandad1943 you've given me the first laugh of the morning grin

That's a rotten analogy Primrose65 which would be a better fit if you considered the present government as Pharaoh and Corbyn as Moses. But on the whole it's just a rotten piece of writing that would once have struggled for publication. So you have to ask "Why is it getting published now?"

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 10:56:28

Annie Yawn!!

Primrose65 Fri 06-Apr-18 11:04:25

"Why is it getting published now?"

Because it's topical?

Actually Grandad the FT was pretty critical of the banks during the crisis and Gillian Tett was calling it before it happened in the FT. I'd guess you're just assuming the FT supported the banks because you don't read it?

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 11:16:05

So the FT has always published badly written pieces, with questionable analogies and poorly developed metaphors has it? And I always thought it was a quality paper.

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 11:31:55

Hypocricy bores you Trisher ?

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 11:34:22

Yawn Annie

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 11:38:00

Yawns do not wipe out truth Trisher , he is a hypocrite

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 11:44:26

Yawn

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 12:01:35

Doesn't change the truth, but I realise it helps you to irnore the truth Trisher , you can't defend the indefensible

Primrose65 Fri 06-Apr-18 12:10:54

Annie, I think you're absolutely right when you say 'my way or no way' for Corbyn. Not a great character trait for someone running a country!

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 12:17:49

Primrose, seems it's the democracy liked by the far left , very Putin form of democracy

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 12:38:41

On the other hand this government is characterised by lying foreign secretaries, misinformation given to parliament, and using serious incidents to score political points and create international unrest. So that's alright isn't it?

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 12:42:41

No it isn't alright, but how can you attack them and defend Corbyn's faults ? I do not defend this government and I do not defend Corbyn, you attack the hypocricy in the government and defend Corbyn's hypocricy

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 12:47:57

They are the ones in charge Annie I though you might have realised that. It's no use shouting at the bus conductor you have to tell the driver if you want the bus to stop.

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 13:01:09

But ok to want hypocrites to replace hypocrites , I do not

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 13:02:19

Well said trisher

lemongrove Fri 06-Apr-18 13:29:55

You don’t know that any lies have been used over the Salisbury poisonings trisher but any reason to have a go at the government rather than the Russian government?
Your post of 10.49 Grandad43 saying ‘I will not even respond to your above rediculas post Primrose’
How very stuffy! It wasn’t ridiculous, simply amusing, as it was meant to be.
GN isn’t the Oxford debating society, we can have opinions as well as facts and a few jokes ( though not vile ones.)

Primrose65 Fri 06-Apr-18 14:52:41

Admittedly, it's not quite as funny as the Russians comparing Skripal with Midsomer Murders, but I didn't think it was that bad for the FT.

They covered the meeting in Bristol last night where Thangam Debbonaire was targetted by Momentum and the far left.

“Why did you think it was right to go on the demonstration against anti-Semitism that brought the Labour party into disrepute?” Criticism of Corbyn is 'disgusting' and negative reports are 'just smears'.

Ms Debbonaire later said in a statement: “Unfortunately, my attempt to explain my attendance at the rally was shouted down and no attempt was made to stop this. I therefore left the meeting as it was unproductive.

“I have no problem being held to account — but this must be in an environment where I can give my response,” she added.

“Absolutely disgusting that a Labour MP is run out of a meeting by a heckling group of cranks,” said Holly Jones, secretary for Bristol Young Labour. “Members showed no respect.”

“Her stance on the anti-Semitism thing has gone down really badly with people there,” he added. “They’re thinking, ‘We need to get rid of Thangam’.”

“There’s a difference in approach within Momentum,” said one moderate Labour party member after Thursday’s meeting. “The younger members are more relaxed about Thangam, some of the older people, who were around in the 1980s, have got chips on their shoulders and a hatchet to bury.”

An interesting comment right at the end of the piece - it seems it's the oldies who tend to have Manichean views rather than the younger members.
