Along with gillybob, glamma and, I think, MissAdventure (?) I'm waiting for a call to say that my daughter has gone into labour. Anyone else got a baby due imminently?
Whilst typing this I just got a text from my foster son to say his 3 months pregnant wife has started bleeding. Oh no!

Congratulations on the birth of little Evie gilly, I'm so pleased for you as I know how much this baby has been longed for. flowers
We're in the ant-natal room with contractions coming regularly. Waters broke at 5.20 or so this morning, but this baby doesn't seem in any hurry.

Thinking of gilly and her daughter.

Just got a phone call, my daughter's waters have broken and her contractions have started. I'm off to Dorset.

grannyactivist Mon 30-Apr-18 05:06:56

I've been awake for the last ninety minutes and try as I might I can't get back to sleep. I'm thinking about gilly and her daughter and hoping (and praying) that all is well.
My own daughter is now overdue and very tired and apart from Tuesday I have a very busy week ahead so dashing over to Dorset at short notice may prove quite difficult, but she wants me at the birth if it's at all possible.
In other baby news there are three young couples I know who are all at the three month mark in their pregnancies and I'm slightly unsettled after what happened to my foster son and his wife. One of the couples are the parents of a four year old who is severely autistic and they also have a one year old, they're going to find it very tough I think.

Just got back from my church meeting and dashed over to my laptop to see if you'd posted gilly. Glad to see your update, but sorry you're not much closer to meeting the little one yet. I know you'll be anxious, that's understandable, but I do hope you and the parents-to-be manage to get some rest tonight. flowers

I was induced with pre eclampsia with DD2 and it took ages. Induced at 8am on a Wednesday and baby born 7.30pm on the Friday. However I was not in pain at all until after lunch on Friday. I had a midwife who insisted in removing the pressary at 10pm because "mothers need to rest and sleep". I couldn't even get my waters broken until after lunch day 3 because the cervix was "unfavourable" - but it all started to happen after that!

So my labour was - depending on how you look at it
- just under 60 hours
- 5 hours 30 mins (the time when I had proper contractions

Hope that your DD is able to get some sleep tonight Gilly and that it speeds up soon

Jane10 Sun 29-Apr-18 20:08:43
